anyone able to tell me a simple and easy way to change the amount of credits i start with in game as i want to see the full potential of all of my ships thank u

Take a look at the web sites that host user created scripts, they're linked in the tutorials sticky thread at the top of this forum. There are plenty of scripts that you can download that will give you free credits.

thanks to both of u guys however for some reason vamp im unable to actually download the file at all keeps saying cannot view this content which isnt helping me sorry bout bugging u on this

It looks like Terrabyte is hosting this file as an xml, and as a result, your browser will try to interpret the style sheet. Simply go to the download link and do a save target as on it. Download it into your script directory and away you go. You will have to activate the script, but I am assuming you know how to do this.

here's a quick script to achieve the desired effect:

1) Unlock the scripting center (skip if previously done)
- While sitting in your ship in-game, type "Thereshallbewings", with that exact capitalization.

2) Create a new script
- Fairly self explanitory, go into the scripting center (s -> c -> s from the cockpit view), highlight <New Script>, hit enter.
- Name the script something like "credits.cheat" so you can find it later.

3) Write the script
- Go into the section of the script titled "Code", highlight the line that says <New Line>, and hit enter.
- Go the the "Trade Commands" menu and choose "Add money to player: <Var/Number>".
- It will bring up a menu asking what value you want to input. Select "Number" and then type in the number of credits you would like to give yourself and hit enter again.
- Now the script's Code should read:

Code: Select all

001        add money to player: x

where x is the amount of credits you wish to add.

4) Run the script
- Hit escape to exit the script editor. When asked if you want to save the script, choose yes.
- Now find your script in the list of scripts available (yours might be the only script available). Select your script and press "R". Then just hit enter twice, which should bring you back to the script list.

you should now be x credits richer. use this with a negative number to subtract credits from your total.

You have to be in your ship flying around space. Once you are in this position simply type Thereshallbewings

You should hear a beep, and if other things happen (such as you speeding up) ignore them.

Nope, type it anytime in-game.

And if you want to unlock the in-game Galaxy Editor, type Thereshallbewings in the main menu and goto "New Game" and there shall be a new item to select at the vary bottom. Have fun.
