Nice picture, sharp and spiky green beaut! Anyway, that looks very much like a virus, with the spiky appendages to attach to a cell, then inject itself into it, then turn the cell into a temporary manufacturing facility, until there are so many viruses in them the cell explodes.
This WILL happen to the entire body, there is prevention, but there is no cure...
BTW, as soon as your body gets used to one cold virus, it'll get attacked by a different version of the same bloody virus. Thus you'll never get used to the cold. Once your body can take one version out, then different versions are waiting to take you out...
Fairly harmless, 'cept for the flu strain, which, unless you've had a vaccine can KILL. (Only true about previous paragraph.)
