I restarted XBTF a while back and found that, after trading in Teladi space it proved to be VERY profitable to go south and trade with the Split. This made me a fortune in very little time, which allowed for several ship upgrades.
Some people may mention selling your shield and start trading with that money. It did not work for me, my ship exploded without shielding due to hull damage. Anyway, after you have got a few credits to upgrade your shields and guns go and whack some Xenon butt, which is very profitable, too.

Whenever I discover a game thats apart of series I always try to play the previouse incarnations first. I find it helps me enjoy the latest version even more if i'm familiar with the games history.
If you can get your hands on a copy of X-Gold then go for it as X2 looks like its going to raise the stakes in the genre of space fighter/trader sims.

If it IS, then Egosoft (and their publishers) aren't doing their job properly. The main reason X-Gold is hard to come by is that the publishers (THQ) didn't have a clue what they were doing with it--no advertising, limited distribution.xenon slayer wrote:do you think x2 will be as rare as x-gold when it comes out?
