Currently the individual person you start with doesn't matter at all, it only matters with location and maybe impacts couple of hours of initial gameplay that is meaningless compared to a playthrough. There should be some customization of the gameplay that you want and talent tree would bring everything to next level. Idealy you want something more than a tree that gives you -1 sec to travel charge time or +5% shields but some more game altering choices as well. There could be a branch that focuses on player controlled ships, giving it some bonuses, one could focus on base building, one on trade etc. The point would be to have limited points to choose and customize your gameplay each time, depending if you want to go pirate or just want to make an empire or you want to fight yourself all the time.
As for how to get points there could be exp or you could buy/steal/loot a certain total amount of points.

No, thanks.
Brute force and ignorance solves all problems, just not very efficiently.
If brute force isn't working, then you aren't using enough.

Your avatar's race/species determines station interior type.Realaivenho wrote: ↑Wed, 16. Jul 25, 06:28 Currently the individual person you start with doesn't matter at all,
Would rather not have any magic feats. A ship should not go faster just because the player is driving it. It never made any sense even in starfield.

I don't like it in games where the pilot skill magically increases the performance stats of the machines they are flying.
