Coordinate attack commentary removed from Tech Support

Post by Hemglass »

I can confirm this.

I have tested every option possible. Ship still, for NO reason go right into the enemy staion they are attacking.
Fleet or no fleet.. attack, Coord attack, single attack.. etc, they do the same.

Line up however you want. After a while, Totaly random ship of the fleet or by themself if they are not in fleet, rush right into the station.
Or try to take a short cut to a new possition. = boom.

I dont think this is a bug, I think this is just slopy coding. A way to repos. ships disregarding enemy station infront of them.

Would be better if Egosoft just fix this, its not a new problem. And EVE have a function for "keep distance" for like a 15 years or so.
If this is some weird "feel the loss" thing.. its just outright bad game design.

Only workaround is micro management. When ships starts to boost, stop them and manually move them to where they tried to go, if thats clear, otherwise just move them to a new spot. Rince and repeat.
You have to keep an eye on the fight non stop. Cuz.. it only take a few seconds for a destroyer to reach the stations guns. And then its to late. You dont have the time to turn the heavy one. Also Captain Collins (the YT) also proved this messy ship movement in station attack.

I have no problem with hard fights and loosing ships but in a controlled siege hamering a station its not inovative to just let the players ship go to smoke in suicide runs for a new position. Make no sense.

Moved to the main forum since this is clearly not a Tech Support request. If you actually want to contribute to a Tech Support thread rather than just posting your opinions, provide the information requested at the top of that forum.
