Exactly, what I posted about above. Trump just wants to declare Martial law, and have total control. If that happens, welcome a full dictatorship from that day on.esd wrote: ↑Thu, 12. Apparently trump promised "big punishment" for anyone who dares protest during his birthday parade. Typical despot behaviour.

If they ignore the rule of law completely, then it's already a dictatorship, full-on fascism. That "Large Ludicrous Law" they are trying to push through the senate includes language that makes the mid-terms potentially optional anyway.matthewfarmery wrote: ↑Thu, 12. Re: Trump Presidency
Land of the free... get to sit and watch the real manifestation of a country that spent so much of its time trying to bully, influence, instruct, force other nations to their desire and ideology (as "leader of the free world") devolve into... the thing it purported to defend against. True, it's not there yet, but it continues to march onwards.
The impotence of the entire political and judicial system (Trump in court for years, yet here he is as President), coupled with a (from a remote viewpoint) indifference by the majority of the public... hard to see where this comes up against the buffers. One belligerent personality and the entire political party just shrugs (surely they aren't all onboard with this really?!)
In their defense (the opposition in general) it does feel like there's so *much* flying around that the "opposition" (not just political, but legal and public) cannot act fast enough. Like a creaking old legacy system attempting to curtail the modern way, by the time its turned around to one thing three more are in action.
Usually the youth are rebellious (historically speaking) to such changes. Do they appear to be in the US? The media are so preoccupied with trying to keep up with what's going on that it's not really possible to see how all these events are *actually* going down with the population itself. Sure,
Because they're the only ones who'll stop this. Is there evidence that the *majority* are starting to care yet? Once they start showing it I'm sure things will change, but so far (from afar) it still seems carte blanche, so it gets to keep testing/pushing the limits and who knows where it'll end up.

Re: Trump Presidency
it appears you had agreed with me
a person might have a long list of reasons to support these views
the same person will loudly object to being called a fascist, because in modern language a fascist means perahia
but I don't mean perahia
let's say I am not looking to educate them or change their views.
I had a long time to think about it as I see what people in Russia say, how my friends in Russia support wars, Putin and Z. How my family in US supports mass deportations of everyone "dark'
I arrived at the point where differentiating someone who sympathizes with fascist ideas without knowing what fascist is and those who do know, is something I can't do without reading minds.

One thing I found interesting is that the National Guard stationed in L.A. aren’t even getting paid currently. Doing something like this unpaid either requires a lot of faith into the administration that you will get paid eventually (which let’s be honest might be misplaced) or simply a lot of dedication to the cause.

Unsurprisingly, Judge Breyer found Trumpington broke the law. Ordered command of the NG be ripened to Newsom. Weirdly he stayed the order so the governed can keep those troops while they appeal.

Two lawmakers shot in their homes - in minnesota the Houses have razer thin democratic majorities. If these two die, the state swings Republican. If I was a conspiracy theorist...

I hope they make it. But this is Trump's America now. He will likely pardon the shooter (for money) and call it a day. Wouldn't surprise me if there are going to be more violence, and more people getting shot. But of course, Trump will likely welcome this, and even egg on anyone else with the same thoughts. So again, come next year, elections will probably be problematic, or none existent. As democracy will be dead by then. What Happened
- 2:00 a.m. - A man dressed in police-style body armor opened fire at Senator Hoffman’s home in Champlin, MN, shooting Hoffman and spouse.
Shortly after - The same attacker drove roughly 8 miles to Brooklyn Park, where he entered Representative Hortman’s home and shot both Hortman and her spouse. A third person may have also been wounded.
5:30 a.m. - A shelter-in-place order was issued across a wide area of Brooklyn Park. Residents were told a man impersonating a police officer was at large and considered armed and dangerous.

Melissa Hortman and her husband are dead. John Hoffman and his wife have, so far, survived. The police are advising people not to answer the door to solo officers.

May they rest in peace. I just hope they find the bugger who did this. You never know. But this may likely lead to others being shot, that is my prediction.

You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to smell the stink on this. This was targeted assassinations to give the GOP more power. This is who these freaks are.

Attempted assassination of multiple Democrats
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/14/minneso ... tings.html
An assailant allegedly impersonating a police officer killed former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, and her husband, Mark.
Minnesota Democratic state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also each shot multiple times by the suspect at their home
Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed early Saturday in what appears to be a “politically motivated assassination” of the Democrat, Gov. Tim Walz said.
Minnesota Democratic state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were separately each shot multiple times in their own home, about eight miles away. They remained alive as of Saturday morning.

I'm really curious as for when we'll reach the bottom of all of this. Every day I'm thinking: "Okay, now people got their wake-up call". I guess we really have to see whole cities burning before madmen like Trump are removed from office. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was like... nobody has ever seen such bad ratings, nobody! A poor turnout like never before! Sad.Organisers had expected up to 200,000 people, but so far only a few thousand have turned up

Depends where camera was taking th shots - there were areas densly packed with viewers, but there was also a lot of areas that was ghost town - you could see empty sitting areas/benches.
Other thoughts:
- Historic uniforms/cadets/vechicles section was nice (finaly we could see Sherman on a parade...f*ck you T-34 coffin).
- I don't know how to describe it, but soldiers kinda lacked the enhusiasm and most of them didn't march in unison.
- The drone /robotics part is new, I never seen it anywhere else (I guess maybe China does drones shows? but I don't remember flying them/walking them on their military parade).
- "Thunderstruck" goes suprisingly well for parade.
- Points for Trump/Vance having a speech at the end of parade, instead of at the start - easier to skip as like everywhere, this is the most boring part

But is it really Trump‘s parade? After all it was „the US army brought to you by Coinbase“. It was less of a military parade and more an ad for a crypto exchange.
