I mean...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g8r701lrno
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth shared information about US air strikes on Yemen in a second private group on the Signal app, the BBC's US partner CBS has confirmed with sources familiar with the messages.

The messages, sent on 15 March, included flight schedules for American F/A-18 Hornets carrying out strikes on Houthi targets. The group included Hegseth's wife, brother and personal lawyer.

His brother, Phil, and personal lawyer, Tim Parlatore, both hold positions at the Department of Defense. But it is not clear why any of the three would require advanced warnings of sensitive US strike plans.
Do wonder when they got those positions and what they are/why - but as I'm not American, this may be very normal over there?

Totally inept, but this is a fool that both Trump and the senate voted for the job. Even though he is clearly not qualified.

For posterity.

With all the whining about DEI, did anyone stop to think that DUI hires are probably a bad idea?

Just a clown shown, and this is exactly what Trump wanted.

We would not have these problems if Harris had been elected. all this chaos and clown show stupidity would not have happened under her watch. But America is getting a bitter pill, and its going to get worse.

While to *us* it may be a "clown show", but to those that voted - do they care about this Hegseth stuff? Why should they... I mean, beyond it's his wife and lawyers, why is Joe Public going to give 2 monkeys whether he told 3 people he shouldn't have what's going on? Has it gone any further yet? Can they see/understand the implication rather than "well, it could have been..." - because they've not paid any attention to any "could..." in the past.

On top, is not the deportation stuff *exactly* what they wanted? South Park didn't start with the "DEY TOOK OUR JOBS!", it was a parody of actual beliefs within the US. Trump didn't come from no-where - he's in power because he's been enabled to. That's entirely US origin. The nation where entire Police Departments, Courts and Governments close rank over what essentially amounts to executions of unarmed black civilians by armed Police "because they didn't obey my order which isn't even legal anyway!".
Where most of the nation believes health care as some over in Europe have is "REDS UNDER THE BED!!111!!!" and "if you can't afford, you should die... so get a job you useless lazy scum!".

I've seen there's some small scale protests, but so far from afar none of this seems to have actually landed a "blow". So is this latest revelation of incompetence and not-fit-for-office *actually* landing a blow domestically?

This is a bad sign for America, but its also the bitter pill that they voted for.
Dow Headed for Worst April Since 1932

Wall Street Journal: “The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed almost 1,000 points on Monday and is headed for its worst April performance since 1932, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The S&P 500’s performance since Inauguration Day is now the worst for any president up to this point in data going back to 1928, according to Bespoke Investment Group.”

“Worries about trade restrictions and the prospect of President Trump firing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell have investors bracing for greater losses ahead. Corporate earnings reports are rolling in, along with executives’ tariff-dented outlooks for the months ahead. Few think the administration’s negotiations with trade partners will yield results soon enough to ease the strain.”

Playbook: “History buffs will note 1932 was the year the Smoot–Hawley tariffs began to have their most severe impact, with the Great Depression nearing its peak.”
I think a recession is going to be very likely now, and Trump is just trying to shift the blame or talk about something else. This and the nearing of the debt ceiling, Maybe America should tank. if that is the only way to make America sit up and realise something is major wrong and with Trump, then so be it. He needs to go. But sadly, I don't see him leaving willingly.

hammering down the opposition and independent media

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/busine ... rcna202413
Owens’ departure comes during a tumultuous chapter for “60 Minutes.” President Donald Trump has sued CBS for $10 billion over an October interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris that the president claims was deceptively edited. The network has denied that claim.

Trump amended the lawsuit earlier this year, upping his damages claim to $20 billion.

“Former President Donald Trump’s repeated claims against ‘60 Minutes’ are false,” CBS News said in a statement in October. “The interview was not doctored” and the show “did not hide any part of Vice President Kamala Harris’s answer to the question at issue.”

So Trump blinked again
Trump Blinks on China Tariffs

“President Trump has signaled a potential U-turn on his trade war with China amid continued market volatility,” CNN reports.

“Trump’s remarks appear to mark a rhetorical climbdown after weeks of tough posturing and tit-for-tat retaliation that sent tariffs on China beyond a staggering 145%.”

Said Trump: “It won’t be anywhere near that high. It’ll come down substantially. But it won’t be zero.”

“Trump made the comments when asked about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s remarks earlier in the day that the high tariff rates between the United States and China have effectively embargoed trade between the economies.”
I guess the turmoil in the markets have finally got Trump's attention? and maybe if countries start selling American bonds etc. Lets see how long it lasts before Trump does another U turn!

And here is a shocker, or not?
Measles Surge Is Now the Largest Since 2000

“The spread of measles in the Southwest now constitutes the largest single outbreak since the United States declared the disease eliminated in 2000,” the New York Times reports.
But we all know who is to blame for this, don't we?

I think it's more likely that his supporter base and followers are shortly going to be feeling some significant impacts from Trump's behaviour and start realising pain as his bully tactics haven't instantly worked out as he'd have hoped.

-or-

*conspiracy hat* his buds have all bought in on the markets at lows, so now's the time to return to normal for 10's of billions of profit.

The former is more likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if the latter was a truth - not necessarily by design, but taken advantage of with fore-knowledge.

Yet another lie of The Clown exposed:
There are currently no economic and trade negotiations between China and the United States.

Any claims about progress in China-US economic and trade negotiations are baseless rumors without factual evidence.

And Trump is making himself look weaker by the day, He probably tried to say that negotiations are happening to try and lesson the blow of his U turn. But we all know hiis full of shit. Trump might try and cover his rear by saying something else.

Hey Hey Trumputin

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people look at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks, he was such a lovely dear
He could preach the Bible like a preacher
Full of ecstasy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
Women would desire

It kind of reminds me of that old Boney M. song, sorry it's sad but a little funny :)

Well, Trump isn't going to be happy, if he goes to the late pope's funeral, he will be taking a back seat, or third row. I wonder if he will try and find an excuse not to go now? I peronally think he he have been put at the very back.

What the hell?
Pete Hegseth Had ‘Dirty’ Internet Line Installed

“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had an internet connection that bypassed the Pentagon’s security protocols set up in his office to use the Signal messaging app on a personal computer,” the AP reports.

“Known as a ‘dirty’ internet line by the IT industry, it connects directly to the public internet where the user’s information and the websites accessed do not have the same security filters or protocols that the Pentagon’s secured connections maintain.”
