[#3862] Bug report (?) - Modded Boron Ray Travel Drive, Momentum reset after opening the map (7.50)

Post by daidalos »

Hello there,

I do not know whether someone else already has posted something like that but this is something that I have just noticed.
I have a modded Boron Ray. When I engage the travel drive, the ship starts speeding up and the faster it goes the more momentum it gets.
The higher the momentum it acquires, the harder it becomes to steer the ship.
If I understood correctly with the new flight model a new blue circle was added that shows you where the ship is actually travelling. Now when I am flying with a high speed in travel driver and I want to turn very sharply the actual nose of the ship and the blue circle start deviating from each other and the ship starts slowing down. Then you can stop turning so the blue circle and the direction of travel aligns with the direction the nose is pointing in.

However, I think there is a bug. Because if you open the map (you have to wait until it is fully loaded) and then you close it again the blue circle and the nose are perfectly aligned and you don't have to wait for them to align.

I made a small video, hopefully it works: https://streamable.com/y2xocx

Now I haven't tested this with other ships but I wanted to share my findings.

Cheers

[edit]
The game itself is unmodded, however, I am playing on GeforceNOW.

Immediately I have to apologise. I have selected public beta on my machine where Steam is installed, however, I did not realise that this setting is not respected by GeforceNOW and so I am actually playing on 7.50. Thank you to CBJ - I had a closer look at my save files and, if I am not mistaken, they are on version 7.50.
Here is a link to the savegame: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gHkJTm ... drive_link
I hope it is accessible.

If possible, please provide a link to a savegame aboard the relevant ship. I'm not sure how easy that is with GeForce Now, but it would make a big difference to any attempts to investigate.

I have done so in my original post, however, I have also found out that I am not actually playing on the public beta but on 7.50.
I apologise for this oversight.

The save file isn't public, so we can't access and look at it.
Can you make it public please? :)

I tried to change the access to it. Can you please try again? Thank you!

Yes we can access it now.
