Wide Area Sensor Array Does Not Enforce Sector Zoomout - Explained
Self explanatory, really. The WASA fails to zoom out the map around the visible area. Limits the usefulness of these vis-a-vis detecting Kha'ak installations.

Re: Wide Area Sensor Array Does Not Enforce Sector Zoomout
Not sure I understand the issue being reported here. If they do detect a Khaak installation, then the sector map should be zoomed out automatically since the zoom level is the largest of default zoom and zoom needed to see all objects in the sector. There is technically a limit on how far sectors can zoom out, but this is well beyond anything reasonable to spot Khaak and is usually only encountered should a ship end up being warped far away from the middle of the sector.

... when a scout pushes against map boundary, it zooms out. When Wide Sensor array pushes against map boundary, it doesn't zoom out. However...Imperial Good wrote: ↑Wed, 12. The game does not consider radar ranges when calculating sector zoom. Only object positions. Auto expansions to fit the radar range into map only happens when you're in the sector or actively watch the map. If you close and reopen the map, it'll shrink until objects (and not their radar ranges) fit into the hexagon. To keep map zoomed out, place nav beacons at corners. 3 or 4 would do it. Here's this being used in practice:Targ Collective wrote: ↑Wed, 12. Mar 25, 05:44 Self explanatory, really. The WASA fails to zoom out the map around the visible area. Huh. I did not know that. Okay, thanks.
