Game version: current from Steam, fully patched at this date, 2024-06-27, Linux native.
Operating system: Linux, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GPU AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Archlinux, latest mesa drivers.
X4 is all vanilla with zero mods, game is in Timelines mode.

Hi, this mission on Timelines requires you to get 500,000 by trading with your 3 ships. Even though the mission suggests you should pilot one of the trading ships by not assigning a captain to it, I opted instead to hiring a random NPC as captain and also selling my spacesuit stuff for an additional 70K credits. So I went commanding my ships to buy and sell stuff, but one by one, they started getting stuck in the critical section of [Docking] or [Undocking], locked in geometry or unable to turn, and this led my mission to a stall by something out of my control.

I could not cancel the critical sections. I could not get out of the sector so that OOS would solve my problem. I could not even get to the ships in sensible time since I was so far away in the Teladi trading station (and teleport was not available). So the usual tools to work around this issue weren't there, and my mission was simply crippled due to that, I'm now 40 minutes into the mission and nothing happens.

I understand I do not need to provide a savegame since it's Timelines, right? No way to save during missions. How would you fix this issue? Since I've been making so much OOS trading, I wasn't even aware this bug (still) existed. It's something from years ago, or am I mistaken and this is a new resurgence due to pathing changes?

Also, was it sensible to include a mission that, from the looks of it, greatly amplifies one of the most frustrating aspects of X4: Foundations?

On a more positive update, instead of just quitting the mission I decided to wait, hopped into a couple NPC ships. Eventually around the 55 minutes mark the ship got unstuck and resumed activity. I completed the mission close to the 59 minutes mark with 5 stars (?).

Is this report irrelevant? I've seen other people saying they're having this issue to. Doesn't it warrant even a short response?

This is still a problem. I ran into this repeatedly this evening, and as these missions are single-sector we can't use OOS to "workaround" it (unless you know that flying ~100km+ away also serves a similar purpose)

Hi, thanks for the reports. This should've been improved significantly by some bugfixes in one of our more recent 7.60 betas. Please let us know if this still happens.

This is still happening on the 7.60 beta with no mods.

@ draeath and/or Omniwrath: Please a link a vanilla save of the current beta showing the issue or the devs can't investigate why the improvements didn't work in your use-cases. Please do that in a new thread started in the public beta forum and linking back to this thread for background.

this is timelines mission so no saves
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.
