Looks like the cybercops have been busy the last couple of days as they have shut down the main hacking forums, according to Europole they have closed down both Cracked and Nulled probably the two biggest hacking forums, but they are not reporting that they have also shut down some other smaller forums, unfortunately I can't link to these as I still haven't figured out how to link to offline conversations, but just them closing down Cracked and Nulled is a major blow to hackers all over the world, and these hackers are all rather a little bit upset right now.

96% of new cars sold in Norway are now electric vehicles. Just something I found interesting. As someone who is lucky enough to live in one of the most densly populated areas on earth and never having owned or needed to own a car, I am do not have much of an opinion on this topic.

It's amazing what you can achieve with a proper and longstanding subsidy program. :)

• No charges on toll roads (1997- 2017).
• No charges on ferries (2009- 2017).
• Maximum 50% of the total amount on ferry fares for electric vehicles (2018)
• Maximum 50% of the total amount on toll roads (2018-2022). From 2023 70%
• Free municipal parking (1999- 2017)
• Access to bus lanes (2005-). New rules allow local authorities to limit the access to only include EVs that carry one or more passengers (2016-)
• 25% reduced company car tax (2000-2008). 50% reduced company car tax (2009-2017). Company car tax reduction reduced to 40% (2018-2021) and 20 percent from 2022.
• Exemption from 25% VAT on leasing (2015-)
• The Norwegian Parliament decided on a national goal that all new cars sold by 2025 should be zero-emission (electric or hydrogen) (2017).
• «Charging right» for people living in apartment buildings was established (2017-)
• Public procurement: From 2022 cars needs to be ZEV. From 2025 the same applies to city buses

Mexico and China are already building cheaper electric vehicles. Mexico has a large surplus of Chinese electric vehicles apparently. They seem to be of ok quality. Maintenance might be quite low and simple. 10k usd for an ev???

The fact that the CEO of Ford is driving a $30.000 Xiaomi EV probably indicates just how good they are. Also says a lot about the EVs Ford has on offer.

Vice President and recently converted Catholic J.D. Vance was rebuked by the pope himself for using Catholic theology to justify mass deportations and isolationism.

[...]

This rhetoric comes as the Trump administration undergoes its ambitious and cruel mass deportation program, detaining immigrants in Guantánamo Bay and potentially soon Salvadoran mega-jails. They’ve also pushed for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza so that they can make their homeland prime real estate. So much for the party of God.
Link

Just say you want to deport them, there are valid reasons for controlling immigration without having to use religion as a rationale. Christians are making religion less appealing to the next generations, at this point it really takes a massive effort to not see the hypocrisy.

Seeing as the current US regime hides a lot behind "christian values" it's a good thing that the church makes a stand here and draws a clear line. We have a similar problem in Germany as well were christian values are used to promote political parties (and thus get a fair chunk of "auto voters" because of that) - while not abiding christian values in their actions.

In the last week we even had that "funny" issue when one political party made an attempt to stop the church critizising their political actions by "remembering the church who is paying [some] of their bills".

Far-right "free speech" zealots keep on sabotaging anything not agreeing with their hateful worldview. Codeberg is under attack because it hosts projects advocating tolerance and equal rights.

It's funny that they go on about free speech as they systematically go about removing the rights of others that they do not agree with. Americans can go on about free speech, but when it gets down to it, they actually have less free speech than the ones they say don't have free speech, as they attack those that say things they don't agree with, forcing some of them to not say anything at all from fear of reprisals and retribution, which in reality is the exact opposite to what their constipation says about their right to free speech.

Now this one is bizzare - this is probably the only successful massive live service AAA game in last 2 years (on Western market - I don't count legions of Eastern Gatcha games here).

Another Elon Musk appreciation news.

Seems like SpaceX bombed Poland from orbit - Falcon 9 rocket that was deploying Starlink has deorbited uncontrollably over Poland.

The debris have been found in suburbs of Poznan - so far no one was hurt and nothing was dammaged - RNG Gods be praised.

Nvidia 50zxx series no longer supports 32 bit physx. Decrease fps in some games. Physx 32 bit can be disabled to get over 60 fps but lose some effects, etc.... Metro Last light, Borderlands 2 and some other AAA games effected.

There's a list of some games effected by it.

The 50 series cards are not very good cards or at least the ones that reviewers have been able to talk about so far, that along with the extortionate prices and the paper launch things are not looking good for Nvidia in the gaming market. AMD just need to get their launch right with reasonably specced cards and reasonably price along with some of them actually being in shops for people to be able to buy them.

Gamestop owner has a bit of meltdown. GameStop selling Canadian and French operations as CEO laments 'wokeness and DEI'

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/gamest ... -1.7462542

CEO Ryan Cohen posted to X earlier in the day that the two business arms were for sale, adding, "High taxes, Liberalism, Socialism, Progressivism, Wokeness and DEI included at no additional cost if you buy today!"

Some 50xx series cards missing some rops. Maybe 5% decrease in rastarization performance.
