So there is a leaked memo that Trump is allegedly going to pause all federal grants, loans and other assistance. This one, I find hard to believe. If he actually did this, this will be an interesting time. Research, public services, public education, parts of the healthcare system and law enforcement will all be without funding. This would also bring an end to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) leaving a not insignificant amount of Americans at threat of food insecurity, something that is a surefire way to start a riot.

EDIT: Apparently it was not a rumor. It will be interesting to see what payments still go through. If research grants are affected for a longer time, this might be the chance for us here in Europe to reverse some of the brain drain by offering secure grants to some of Americas best and brightest minds. While I do not trust our politicians to be clever enough to do it, one can hope. We will not get many wins as long as Trump is in office, but we might as well carve out our pound of flesh instead of handing the entire carcass to big tech and China.

Its going to be interesting when the debt ceiling needs to be lifted, how he will try and get around that? But still, he is undoing a lot if stuff, and probably will kill a lot of people in the process. He is totally bat shit mad.

What Trump is doing is technically illegal. The problem is, even if this gets to the SC, they will probably back Trump to the hilt. Which means, America can kiss the constitution full stop. Trump is a dictator by any other name. Plus he has paused funding HIV meds to third world countries. The list will keep on going on. But instead of making America great again, he is undermining everything. And with the GOP running both houses, don't expect anything to happen. Trump is making things a whole lot worse. And I see more bad things happening. Its going to get a whole lot more colder.

I also saw something about gender, if you were developed in the womb with a toggle and two you are male according to Trump, and obviously the opposite applies for female. Any unusual brain/hormonal configuration developments thereafter are apparently irrelevant.
Thing is, until the Y chromosome kicks in every fetus starts out as female, even Trump

Egg prices won't go down for a while. Many egg laying chickens where decimated due to Bird Flu precautions. Over 20 million, I think. Plus, eggs where already going up in prices in California because of a cage free requirement. For the latter it is worth a higher price, the former will take a year to recover from.

On gender I don't see a resolution anytime soon, you either have the woke making a mockery of liberalism, or the anti-woke freaking out every time they see anything not white or straight. Both are a minority but somehow overshadow politics and internet culture. And that is how Trump won. As for Trump, I do not think that anything he is placing on the subject will hold for long. It ignores intersexed, it ignores the evolving thought of separating gender form sex. Sex being what you were born as and gender being how your present or identify. I wouldn't worry about him making any progress in this arena, it will either fail outright or be rescinded the day he is out of office.

The word is being misused by both right and the left. Or rather the extremes which seem to have the only real voices anymore even though they do not represent the majority of either the right or the left. The extreme left has forgotten what it means to be socially and politically aware of others, it has become too exclusionary and makes too many exceptions that excuse radical behavior. The extreme right, like I said, is just using it to shut anything down that is not white male heteronormative representation. In reality liberalism does not make exceptions for race, sex, gender, financial status, religion, or define a person's value on personal suffrage. It looks to create an equality amongst everyone and provides equity as a ladder to achieve equality, not to replace it. Conservatives conserve the constitution, family, religion, and law. And the Constitution is actually a rather liberal government document. At its core there is no need for the polarizing of conservatives and liberals, their goals are just as easily coexistent and those of socialism and democracy. If people can just stop polluting their own values with polarized filth and contempt. Everyone is using a generalized social stance as a way to only further their own sense of power and profit.

Enter Trump. This is an area that he thrives in and knows how to manipulate for his own gains. a sort of political version of when Mark Twain said "Never Argue With Stupid People. They Will Drag You Down To Their Level and Then Beat You With Experience"

I know where to find right wing, radical right. But where does one find extreme left? What publications, what clubs, groups, churches, political groups?

In my whole life I never met one or talked to one. Unless you count a communist (small "c") from Iceland as one. I am curious how do they keep avoiding me.
