[#1633]Issue with my ship getting stored during the Making Connections quest

I docked my mako at the big ship during the Making Connections battle during the boron quest line. After the battle I went to get back into my ship to go meet the empress but couldn't find it and thought it had been destroyed, but it was still in my owned ships list.
it seems to have been stored during the fight. Ive tried reclaiming the Mako from storage but nothing it happening and there's a metal something(according to Nistur is a laser tower that the ship keeps deploying) floating above the landing pad(which I'm guessing is blocking it).

I sent my save to Nistur on discord and they asked me to post here on the forums

i do have a few mods but we have both tested with out the mods and this is still an issue
