I have been playing only 16 hours on this game. Everything was going well until, suddenly, the controls of the ship stopped responding well.
I am using a combination gamepad + keyboard + mouse, that I have re-mapped myself. When I dock and move around the platform with my guy, everything works fine, so I know it's not the controls, but something is going on with the ship.
The ship seems to be adrift in space. If I speed up, it does it but very slowly. If I turn to the right or left, it decelerates by itself until the speed becomes negative. If I don't touch anything, it's completely adrift, like if it had collided with something. When I turn in any direction, it does it very slowly. It's impossible to maneuver and, definitely, impossible to fight other ships, because you need to do it fast, resulting completely impossible to track them down or point at them with the marker.
I don't know what to do; I have spent 6h out of those 16, trying to fix the problem. From verifying file integrity to changing controls from analogic to digital, canceling gamepad control, using the standard gamepad profile, throwing cargo... I don't know what else to do. I am about to ask for a refund, as the game becomes unplayable. I played the tutorials well; the game does not offer perfect accurate control, but it was okay, combat was acceptable.

We can't really help you without any information to work with. Start by providing the things requested in the very first thread at the top of this forum, in the thread entitled "Technical Support Requests - Please read this before posting!". With some indication of your game version, whether it's modified or not, and the OS and hardware you're using, we might have some chance of being able to identify a solution to your problem.

It sounds a lot as though something small (rock, wreck, drone, satellite, lasertower, etc) may have lodged in the model of your ship. You can use remote camera to check the outside of your ship and take a look for anything unusual.
Do you have access to any other ship of yours close by so that you can check if it is just that one ship misbehaving? Also does the ship fly normally with the reserve pilot flying it?

A dog has a master; a cat has domestic staff.

From your description it sounds like you have disable Flight Assist, resulting in Newtonian Flight. Check this in the main Options Menu/Game Options and it would be a good idea to assign a key for it
