Yaki Pirate Base

Have a slight problem with the Yaki Pirate Base. I have gone a bit sandbox since starting my game a few weeks ago and have not engaged too much in the various plot lines the game has to offer yet, as I research the game I have read bits here and there about a plotline involving the Yaki Pirates, which I have not started, nor to be honest, without googling it, know how to even begin it. Just that it is there, somewhere.

However I currently have a Terran Asgard in Savage Spur attacking the Yaki Pirate Base. Its at about 50%. Question is, if I let it destroy it, is this going to impact my ability to start/finish the Yaki plotline? I have my own fleet of Asgards not too far away, so I could take it out, I guess with some rep loss involved, but I suppose it would be worth it?

Immediately intervene!!!! Or load an earlier save...

Once the Asgard destroys the base, it's over for the whole plotline. You permanently lose the chance to get their blueprints and other rewards.

Irrc it was stated that the game makes sure there is a 'Yaki Base' when progressing to that (sub-) plot at a later time.
But those later Bases might come without a wharf-module (or seperate wharf/shipyard)

I'd leave the Yaki Base live... you can have nice "benefits when (if) you finally arrive at the Yaki plotline.

Another thing is (I'm not sure about it) that certain Stations critical for plotlines are indestructable. I'd suggest a save and try to destroy it with All Asgards (for speed). If it does get destroyed reload and leave it alone until you "reach" the plotline, otherwise you'll know you are wasting your time on it, so again, reload and go on witth your game (and life)...

Before the Yaki plot completes, the Yaki HQ will be replaced if lost for ongoing plot purposes, albeit with a less capable station version. Once the Yaki plot is nearing completion then the Yaki HQ can be permanently destroyed.

Thanks everyone, decided to err on the side of caution and take out the Asgard that was attacking the Yaki Pirate Base to avoid any complications with the plotline / rewards later on :)
