Aside from the scripting/programming difficulties, I imagine it would place a considerable load on the computer as well, asking it to run at such speeds, computing everything 20 times faster. I find in busy sectors, particularly if there's a battle going on, that Seta is almost like slow-motion as it is.

this is why so many more ships are lost in extended SETA, because there's less cycles available in which to make a defensive move (or even just recover shield strength)
if there was a way to turn the SETA on via scripting, then a script to keep it running after jumping would be simple to create - however there isn't, so you're stuck with it
