Knowing CoH spoilers it's highly unlikely this would be the part of other two factions.Bastelfred wrote: ↑Thu, 4. Mar 21, 15:29He only shows ships from the two TER shipyards in the video. Not the ships of the other two shipyards.

I'm quite concerned with Terran turret low rotation speed in Captain collins video.
Teladi turrets sux ass due to low rotation speed

Jip, so still no alternative to ARG turrets then. Pity.

If the Terran battleship can snipe an enemy from 14k away, I don’t think there’s a need for turret rotation! It would be nice though

Re: Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
The terran battleship fills a niche which mostly is fanservice and has no real application in the game. The day to day operations are about hitting fast targets, that's where you need ARG turrets or cry'n die.Teladi CEO wrote: ↑Thu, 4. At least for me - because I love IS battles with lot's of fireworks. OOS it wouldn't matter. But watching turrets constantly missing the target is no fun at all.

Re: Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
Other than main DD and BB weapons Terrans turrets will sux at long range, due to lack of Large Plasma and slow rotation.
Large Pulse is unremarkable other than better bullet speed.
Large Bolt might be interesting medium range (especially with larger that usual amount of Large turrets on Terran ships).
Large Beam will sux due to slow turret rotation against fighter (only use for Large beam at the moment), while still not having enough power for anti-capship duty.
Small turrets sux anyway, so less of them for more Large ones is still fair Trade-off for Terrans.
Edit: Hopefully Terran missile turrets could compensate it.

The German voice actors are on a professional level this time. (Taken from the linked German Let's Play). They are great! I like it a lot. I hope this goes for the English voice actors as well.

I interpret this more as a clear specialization of the ships. Which also makes sense with the new fleet commands in 4.0
An XL destroyer doesn't need fast turrets if its target is in its weight class. If you are so extremely slow yourself... Then the turrets only have to compensate for the opponent's movements, but not your own.

You can see the ships from the other two shipyards in Draconian's video. Long story short: They are a subset of the main Terran faction and I think they have a modified version of the light fighter with 4 instead of 2 shields it seems. Essentially the same with Split Vendetta.Bastelfred wrote: ↑Thu, 4. Mar 21, 15:29He only shows ships from the two TER shipyards in the video. Not the ships of the other two shipyards.

Re: [SPOILERS] Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
One thing I'd really like to see is a Terran ship next to any of "Commonwealth" equivalent, so a size comparison can be made...
Watched both videos (Werit and Cpt Collins) and I'm not really impressed by the stats (the aesthetics is something I don't want to get into).
None of them is a "game changer", even the battleship that, supposedly, can come toe to toe with an I will not have a chance (with a mildly decent AI) since the I will be just running circles around it, biting it a piece at a time while the poor brick of a ship will keep on trying to get it's guns to bear....
Prediction is: more (unnecessary) shouts about nerfing the Xenons...

I like that there is only the battleship that may or may not be a game changer. Any game changer is also bad for the game balance.
I think the L bolt turrets with the short range and low turn rate look very underwhelming, though.

Oh wow that video is such high quality, wish I could turn the graphics up like that. Makes everything look so much better. The stations are even more glorious than I thought, and the new character models are great too. Kukri is gonna be my fave ship.Tamina wrote: ↑Thu, 4. In Draconian's video you can hear some more of CoH soundtrack.
It gives X3:TC Terran sectors OST vibes - definetly good!
There is a vocal at 29:35 that sounds familiar, yet I can't identified it:

Re: Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
Looks like a good ship for a demolition fleet to me. Really nice long range on the big laser, main batteries could be given a roughly equivalent range with Expediters. All 3 weapons together would provide sustained firepower well over double that of a Behemoth (my current favourite for obliterating stations). Think I'm going to like it.

Re: [SPOILERS] Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
Stat wise it seems like XL Beam is equivalent of 3 Destroyer batteries, so BB has equvalent of 5 destroyer baterries + 16 large turrets.
Syn seem like more compact solution: 3 DD bateries + 8 large turrets.
Draconian's video gives you the preview of Pioneer fighter - Modified Gladius seems to be suplement to holes in Terran fighter designs - heavy fighted with 2 guns, but 4 shields (while Gladius is 4 guns and 2 shields).
Kinda wonder why both Protectorate and Pioneer Kuri has 1 shields, when it has obviosly free spot for second shield below first one.

Re: [SPOILERS] Heads up - About X4: Cradle of Humanity previews
Did anyone notice the "Branch 9 Battleship I" now has 196 m/s (as opposed to 87 m/s in 3.30HF2) cruise speed which makes it a much more threatening adversary (I won't be able to effortlessly plasma-spam it with my rattlesnake while going in reverse).
With this kind of quickness the vaunted Asgard (67 m/s forward!!!) has no chance to survive make her time.
Also, without plasma turrets the Asgard will probably lose to a Raptor (a carrier!) even without its (her?) fighter wings.
Is it just me, or are TER the most cowardly race? While the engine having more reverse thrust than forward thrust is quite strange in itself (but quite common even in 3.30HF2), the TER are taking this to the exterme! It would be hilarious if the Asgard would actually move faster tail-first with the All-round engine.
In conclusion, no ship strike me as a "must have" (I like the design of a TER construction vessel, though
), but those Mk2 XL shields look nice (as are the Mk3 L shields); I hope we will be able (unlike X3) to install TER equipment on ARG ships and vice versa (the ARG L Plasma turrets could have given an Asgard a second chance against an I).
