The fact that it only happened for you with Split Vendetta installed is almost certainly a coincidence, and not something that is likely to be repeatable by others, or indeed necessarily by you if you try it again in future. Yeah, it's an unfortunate issue when it comes to computers. SO many configurations, and so many unique issues that's really hard to replicate. Now the waiting game for NVIDIA.

A small update:
The nvidia driver update from december 15th (version 460.89) seems to have fixed this issue for me.
All i did was a basic update without any further tweaks like a clean installation or 3rd party software updates.

This is with a GTX 1080ti.

After experiencing a fix to the issue with v457.51, v460.89 has again revealed the problem, therefore the following can be applied to this whole thread:

As Nvidia have not put anything about a fix for X4 in their change notes, nor replied back to Egosoft, the devs think that the new driver may not actually fix the issue but that some players who had this quite intermittent problem before are perhaps just being lucky so far while using the new driver.

X4 is mentioned in the latest Nvidia driver, finally. So the disappearing HUD should hopefully be fixed.

Nvidia currently acknowledge there are a couple of driver issues involving X4, so they know about them and presumably are working on them. I do not believe that they are said to be resolved as yet.

[EDIT] That fixed issue for me:

1. Installed the latest driver (ticked clean installation)
2. Restarted PC (not sure if necessary)
3. Started X4 and changed AA settings (in my case to FXAA low, other settings may also work)
4. Confirmed the settings and quited X4
5. Deleted pipelinecache.bin, then started X4

No ui issues since then.
It only worked in that order. Any of this alone didn't help.
I'm running GTX 1070, Game version: 4.0 beta with split dlc.

Until Nvidia actually say the identified root cause is fixed in their drivers then it may or may not be affected by players' settings and procedural solutions.

We may have some progress! NVidia have released hotfix drivers 461.33 with the following items in the list of things fixed:

• [X4: Foundations][Vulkan]: The game may crash on GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs. [3220107]
• [X4: Foundations][Vulkan]: HUD in the game is broken. [3169099]

Please try the drivers and let us know how you get on.

Getting a 3090 this afternoon in the mail for my new build. Will report if I can reproduce the issue with a fresh card and driver. Note I have only had this happen once on my laptop, 2080 Max GQ, and when it happened there was a large FPS drop also in X4 AND in Cyberpunk 2077. A restart fixed the issue for both games. If the issue persist maybe Nvidia will pay more attention if they know the same underlying issue seems to effet Cyberpunk 2077, just in a different way.

I think it is now time that we asked that further reports be made here only if the Nvidia 461.33 driver fix does NOT resolve players' HUD element disappearances (following a clean driver uninstall/install process).

Installed the new drivers yesterday when they came out.. Crashed in first 13 seconds of playing.
Restarted the computer.. And I had X4 playing on my PC for rest day.. Over 12 hours (Playing in background while I did other stuff, playing here and there).

Today I started her back up.. Left it for about 1 hour why I did other things. Came in started moving some Destroyers around for an attack, and It just crashed again. Really pissing me off.

Had the Shield and Hull bars in the HUD disappear today for a few minutes their background shading was still there though. 3090 latest drivers. They came back on their own and unlike before there wasn't an accompanying drop in FPS.

EDIT: Happened again five minutes ago and then froze after I took this screen shot. Was boosting but can’t see shield or hull bar.

@ RoverTX: Please state the exact driver number in use rather than just say 'latest'. It is rather essential that the devs know that detail accurately in this type of problem.

Also please say whether you did a clean driver uninstall before new installation and whether you then restarted your system before playing; those driver aspects make a difference.
