I have to upset. Just got problems with a 457.51 driver. This time, my interface disappeared while loading. On a completely black screen only percentages and a hint were displayed. Video is GF2080ti

As Nvidia have not put anything about a fix for X4 in their change notes, nor replied back to Egosoft, the devs think that the new driver may not actually fix the issue but that some players who had this quite intermittent problem before are perhaps just being lucky so far while using the new driver.

In the meantime, I hope that players are using a *clean* driver uninstall before rolling-back or updating them. They otherwise face the effects of remnants of past driver versions persisting.

What is the best way to do this? A driver uninstaller? Or manually.

Nothing that bad, but yes, issues still with 457.51. Just the crosshairs circle vanishes, but looking at map/crossing a gate brings it back.
Same was with 457.30, but bit more often (subjectively). The rest of HUD: have not noticed to disappear.

Can't go back to 452.06, because "RTX 3070".

@ surferx: There are reputable 3rd party driver cleaner tools such as DDU, but I also believe that the Nvidia driver update process panel has an advanced option called something like 'Clean Installation'. (I have an AMD card.)

There is still nothing in the release notes to indicate that the problem has been solved, and we've heard nothing from NVidia to that effect. With that in mind, and the fact that the problem has often been intermittent for many players since it was first reported, we'll be interested to see whether other people report that it's fixed, or whether it continues to be a problem for some or all of you.

Played for a couple of hours with the new driver, and no HUD issues so far. Looks promising.

Not sure if it's the new driver or 4.0 beta, but there seem to be a performance improvement as well. Hopefully it stays that way...

The same problem with a new driver, HUD disappears and appears, also I tested the previous version driver, the same problem. Nothing has been fixed. Clean installation and complete removal and reinstallation of the driver does not help.

It would be more informative (and convenient) if you&everybody would state the exact driver version, rather than "latest".

Today, december 17 2020, I just found out that Nvidia driver (from 15-12-2020) still has not provided us with a solution for the HUD problem, flickering on and off like a damn Christmas tree!!!

GPU-processor: GeForce GTX 1060
Stuurprogrammaversie: 460.89

Worst thing is, for some reason older versions were slowly removed from geforce.co.uk, and I had 452.06-notebook-win10-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql this one installed and suddenly after a usual restart of my laptop it had the forelast update installed, without asking...
Now the most old driver for my card is 456.55-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql, so those dipshits make it harder and harder to get a still old version that works...
I cant put the file online, it is too big, but willing to help if needed...

With NVCleanstall (from TechPowerUP) I can install the version you want from the 391.35 to the current 460.89 and without all telemetry or drivers I don't have the usage like HD Audio HDMI, or those for the NVIDIA Shield Wireless Controller.
And I choose myself to update the drivers no matter if they are offered or not. And I refuse all automatic upgrade.

Hello everyone, through much experimentation, and not even knowing it was an Nvidia driver issue, I figured out that (at least for me) the Split DLC is the cause. If you play just the pure vanilla game, this issue does not happen. Not sure if that can help out the devs at all.

Update: After more experimenting with the graphics, and current Nvidia Driver (460.89) while the previous one I had before upgrading just now: 460.79. When I turn off Anti-Aliasing, all of the disappearing is gone. So I guess for a temporary solution, turn your Anti-Aliasing off with the 460.89 driver. Not sure if it'll work the same on previous versions.
