In Authority We Trust
Is this achievement bugged? I worked with the Split police, found the last rebel defence platform and seem to have ended that storyline, but no achievement. Or is this a different storyline? I guess I'm just curious how it is triggered.

Re: In Authority We Trust
Pretty sure it is bugged. I worked with the police and didn't get it. I looked at the achievements at GOG, and more people have the Fists of the Empire achievement (which you get for siding with the Patriarchy and finishing the entire Split Vendetta storyline) than the In Authority We Trust achievement (which according to GOG exactly 0.0% of people have). I think it is safe to assume that many of the people who sided with the Patriarchy also worked with the police earlier on, so therefore it is strange to see no one has this achievement yet even though people already do have the achievement for finishing the entire storyline.

Same. See my post where I think I found a place where there's no way to succeed in continuing the line

$Achievement_Working_With_Police must be a value greater than or equal to 3 to get the achievement. This is increased by... [SPOILERS]
- Tipping the police off about the Curbs. First time with the slave transaction fund details.
- Tipping the police off about the Curbs. Second time with the information that they trust you.
- Fleeing the prison break battle. The prison break battle must be able to occur, meaning there must be at least 1 police ship involved in it. As long as 1 police ship is involved, all the player has to do is be further than their initial distance + 10 km, or 60 km if that is larger, away from the slave trader ship. As long as all police are not killed, it should still count no matter how long the player takes. One can tell if this was done correctly by the Curb calling the player "cowardly".

Some additional information:
If anyone tried to get it and completed the split story chosing the Zyarth Patriarchy, I'd like to take a look into such a save file.

- Tipping the police off is possible after the player asked to prove their dedication in the Throneroom. Dal informs the player about meeting him at the Funeral Service Ship and will send them to the police from there.

I'll message you. I don't understand what I haven't done, I helped the police out at every stage. I don't have many achievements left, its bugging me.izalith wrote: ↑Thu, 7. On the third one, I have attempted this many times, and every time the logbook says I failed to disengage in time. I undock from the station and immediately travel mode away, and I still get that message. Is the "cowardly" comm the only important thing? Is the logbook irrelevant?Imperial Good wrote: ↑Thu, 7. The achievement should be awarded once the chapter 7 station is destroyed.

However, I do think I have been missing the second police tipoff. Because I don't think there's any indication in the game that you should go talk to them, and I don't know when and where to go. There should be a breadcrumb either via comm, logbook, or mission step. The first breadcrumb that I know about is when Dal asks you to come see him if you want to inform the police. The third step has a breadcrumb via comm where they tell you to disengage. But I don't think there's any breadcrumb for item 2, is there?

playing through it again, are items 1 and 2 both in the first conversation with the police?
So you have the one conversation, and the battle, and that's it?

Not sure what script is creating the logbook entry. But the cowardly com appears coupled to helping the police. At the same time it reduces your potential CUB reputation gain, it increases your potential ZYA reputation gain and adds 1 to the achievement counter.

First one should be when you get the dubious financial information. Second one is after you are trusted with the Curbs. I think trusted refers to having passed their entrance tests.

Well, in the only conversation with the police that has a breadcrumb, there are two conversation options. The first one I don't recall exactly what the player says, but the second one says something like "I have earned their trust". This is all right after the first time Dal offers you the option of working with the police, and asks you to meet him on the funeral ship. After that you go and pretend to attack a cobra, then go straight to slave trader 2, the end of which results in the battle in question.

Ok, I was able to get the achievement tonight. Here's what I did.

third step (this one I had to read the game files to figure out why I was missing it; Imperial Good gave me the clue)

After the mission where you go through the accelerator on the funeral ship and get caught and imprisoned, when you're allowed out, Dal will mention that he has a contact in the police. And to come and talk to him if you want to work with them. He is on the funeral ship at the accelerator in the dock area. There's no mission guidance to him, you just have to go there.

meet with the police on the FRF defence station in the sector. Go through the conversation as normal

After freeing the prisoners and getting the ship at the end of the slave trader 2 line, you'll be asked to return to slave trader 2. The police will contact you and tell you to disengage. However if you look at the cues in the game file, it says the police have to actually see you run away. Effectively what this means is, you need to stay close to slave trader 2 until combat starts. Then run away. The Curbs lady will call you a coward. Now follow the quest to the end, blowing up the station. Then it popped for me.

I tried it in my save. Do you still need a save game? I did get the coward comm but not the achievement, guess the police didn’t see me fleeing, because I left the place as soon as they comm me to get out of their way.izalith wrote: ↑Thu, 7. I also have a save right before you go on the Argon station (did the previous steps with FRF defense station and pretending to kill the cobra). Haven’t tried the escape with that additional information yet.

Tried it again and i am still not able to get this achievement. After undocking with the Chimera i flew to the slave trader and docked at it. As soon as i saw the police shooting it (took a while and the slave trader 2 was idling in space for a while), i flew away and got the coward call. Still the logbook said i failed to disengage in time. Did your logbook said that you disengaged in time?
PS: I do have a save sitting on slave trader 2 just before docking at the station, if needed.
Edit: When exactly do you get the achievement? After you ran away and report back or do you have to complete the rest of the whole plot?

Re: In Authority We Trust
Just to be sure: If I did the slave trader 2 mission correctly, the logbook entry should not say that I did not disengage in time right?
I’m still not getting this part right.

You should be ok. Go through the rest of the plot and destroy the station. Speak to Dal Busta and it will trigger.rene6740 wrote: ↑Mon, 25. May 20, 18:06CaptainRAVE wrote: ↑Fri, 8. The logbook said I did not disengage in time. Shouldn’t it be different if done correctly?
