Possibly controversial to post this here but Playstation store has first 3 Uncharted games (or at least the single player components of them) for PS4 free until 5th of May.

Full disclosure: I have a PS4, ok? It was a gift. I hardly ever use it.

Please don't hate me.

We're all gamers here. Don't see why it would be controversial to post about a console that has had great games.

Never realised that Doomdark's Revenge & Lords of Midnight are free on GOG, and likely always have been. - Can't remember which platform I used to play Doomdark's Revenge on, but it was my favourite game at the time. Might've been an Atari ST, or an Amstrad 6128 or even a BBC Model B?

I played it on the ZX Spectrum as nature intended although Wikipedia says it was also available on Commodore 64 and Amstrad.

My elder brother considered it his duty to recruit every single NPC (save Shareth of course) in the game.

I preferred to set up a string of forts garrisoned with moonguard riders.

My memory from back then isn't great, but I do remember the eureka moment clearly when I realised if you looked closely at the pixelated image on screen, you could see the flag of the enemy a couple of turns before you confronted them. - I guess it must've been on the Amstrad I had it then.

*FIRST* personal computer game I ever played was 'Orb of Zot.' - Truth was, victory was purely random in it, but I played that damned game endlessly.

And just picked up Pac Man on Steam. Thanks for the heads-up, Burger1! :)

What I remember about it was a bug I found. There was a mechanic whereby, if the Ice Fear got too strong, most of your recruited people would disappear from the selection menu, presumably due to being too afraid to work with you anymore--but the keyboard shortcuts for selecting them would still work, so you could still control them!

A little late, but still one day left to get the Park Life DLC for Cities Skylines for free on steam. Thing is that you'll have to make a Paradox account and link it to your steam account and subcribe to their news letter.

Gah, gonna have to read the manual. - It loads and runs perfect on Win10, but I haven't the vaguest clue what I'm doing. - Dun wanna be old no more.

But just looking at the loaded game overwhelmed me with nostalgia. Was it really 35ish years ago?

Yes, it was. Mike Singleton, who wrote the original game, died in 2012--he was only 61.

There's a dedication to him on the loading page of the game. - Yeah, it's one of the names I remember clearly from my younger gaming days. Was a bit of shock to see he'd died. :(

That Epic gamestore is still a horrible place. It took me numerous tries and about 15 minutes to be able to log onto it yesterday, I just kept on getting the same error message then when I did manage to log on I got disconnected from it and it was back to square one, with the same issue of not being able to log on. The thing was launched a while ago and they still haven't fixed the thing, rather than spending money on other things they need to spend some on their shop and fix it and all of it's numerous issues, bugs and still lack of features.

The store was overrun yesterday for a couple of hours the moment GTA V was unlocked and the minute I posted it here :D Had the same problem but just collected it today :)
