That would be pretty interesting.
Or maybe the Xenon could conquer them instead.

They could easily be Terrans in the sense Argons are Terrans. The gate shutdown left many Terran fleets stranded and occupying or surrendering in distant sectors. Terrans even operated remote colonies for strategic reasons which could have been left to grow.

I just hope that if Sol is included that it doesnt get overrepresented like it did in X3. It's weird that Sol is so developed and has so many sectors and the rest of the commonwealth doesnt, in a design sense it really stands out. Of course Rebirth reversed this and gave every system just as much depth as Sol, more actually - its unfortunate imo that X4 didnt do this. ide accept a system of like 4 sectors, like grand exhange + 1. Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Kuiper Belt or something like that.

Sol could easily have as many sectors as vanilla X4.
If Split DLC could be a reference (DLC will have almost as many setors as vanilla X4) - it will be.

Im talking about Sol specifically, the DLC could have as many systems as they want and putting them all in Sol would be ridiculous.

They could bring back sectors like Omicron Lyrae and say the Terrans conquered it though with the "realignment" who knows what gates are close to the sol system.
Plus, OL was already in Rebirth and Heretic's End is empty.

Egosoft stated many time there will be no XR sectors nor ships in X4.

The appearance of the Terrans in X3 was awesome - an isolated race with both massive and powerful fleets and the determination to fight the Xenon. Flying through their space was very immersive - the ship design reminded of A Space Odyssey (what a great reference to have) and the environment felt like space again: vast, empty - and within our solar system. Entering Mars or Venus sectors was stunning - and not only because of the music
.
I also liked the few voiced Terrans and their character design - friendly people.

The problem would be Terran design in X4.
Curent Argon ship, both Capital and fighter looks too much like USC.
This would leave only ATF or X-Rebirth designs and I was't much of a fan for XR designs (except maybe Lepton and Onil).
Improved ATF style would be nice.
Lore wiese USC was military & police force, while ATF were anti-Xenon special forces.
However since X3AP, thanks to Argon, both threads were one and the same, there would be no point in having two separate militaries, so fusion and reaorganization would come in to effect.
However (part 2), X4 keeps "faction duality" per race, so it would still need Terrans to have two ships sets. I think simple vanuard/sentinel is too boring, so I would go like that:
Civilan grade ships - former USC reaorganized into police and civilian duties - these ships are slightly better in all regards comparing to other races.
Military grade ships - former ATF designs, improved and pushed to the limits - these ships are noticably better in all regards comparing to other races, but they also have much higher reputation requirement (at least 15+ for fighters).
I see the new military ships like this:

More sleek versions of ATF design.

On X3 I always went for ATF ships and the split ships.
Just because they are the most best looking ships around.
Thats why i'm really happy that we getting the split now and I am hoping for the terrans next.
I can't imagine how the ATF ships will look like but I have high expectations from it.

I hope we have seen the last of the ATF design in X3.

The world is full of stories.
Not all of them are yet to be told.
(Maybe they get told only by fans and only in future).
But aswell as story never ends, it has already begun long ago and now someone opening the everfirst topic about))

I don't see that at all. The only way they are similar is a general tendency towards flatness, but even there the Argon-x4 designs have big central vertical sails that are simply lacking in the Terran designs.
Irrational factors are clearly at work.

Instead of adding dozens of new sectors I want just one.
A megasector.
Not sure if Terrans are the best fit for that...they are certainly an option.
I wouldn't mind a new Xenon "core" sector in a future DLC or patch as well. A true endgame objective for the combat fanatics of the X4 franchise....I don't even care what faction(s) appear in the next sector...I just want something biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig instead of quantity

Not gonna happen - technically every X4 sector can become megasector, but look at the bug where sector become very zoom out - current map engine will not be able to handle mega sector, unless you love scrolling (and I mean scrolling a lot!)

Technically every sector in the game is 99.99% empty....I'd like to have at least one sector that's just 90% empty.
I really can't hear this big sector nonsense the devs are claiming anymore tbh. It's like yea you can go past the initial border...but the value of that is currently questionable AT BEST.
And just having one sector at max standard zoom-out size and actually have it filled with a full economic loop should be very possible...after all players have been building self sufficient Megastations that produce every good in the game...so it ought to be possible to have one huge sector that is just filled to the brim with stuff...and not just 2-10 small factories....and for Terrans this even makes sense...earth lovers n all.

Background 3D entities like planets are pretty much 1:1 scale to the real world (or atleast close) meaning a SOL mega sector would be impossible, travel drive or not.
Don't quote me on this but wasn't this related to vanilla and its patches? A Terran DLC would be the best way to also include these systems and just merge them into existing factions while porting some of their ship designs as new ship classes to the inheriting faction replacing some of the sentinel/vanguard laziness you yourself pointed out.

And nobody questions how totally unrealistic this possibility is?

I would quickly loose interest in a game that enables the player to put in a few weeks and build a fleet capable of conquering the Terran's home world. This would be a max immersion break for me.
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
