[Screenshots] Show me your capital system

As the title say's i'm really curious to see how people set up their capital systems.

Obviously not finished yet, i got lazy so still have a lot of stations to build, got most of the basics though.

In Nopileos Fortune VI i just have a huge defence station in the middle of all the jump lanes.

Also as a feature request it would be great if we had preset stations like we do ships or even better a way for us to share station designs with other players and the ability to rotate and move station "Blueprints" before construction has begun or at the very least give us an arrow marker or something along those lines so we know which direction is forward and back. :wink:

you can save all your stations as presets
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

you can rotate them, you just need to find the "root" module which is I suppose the first one placed

Also you Home System looks lovely. Like it way more than those self-sufficient megastructures

Good point, i just wish we had basic station designs already in presets.

Think i might just have to design a base for stations with no production modules then it will be a lot easier, cheers for the heads up.

Oh yeah i mean't rotate the entire plot whilst nothing has been constructed, so you can see which direction it's actually facing without having to go back.

Atm i just rotate the E pier dock until it's facing right then build off that, i'm not really into the mega stations either feels a bit cheaty and looks horrendous :lol:

Edit: Eventually i want to turn my square defence station into a trading hub to get rid of excess wares once i figure out a way to do it.

what I like is just put all the modules I need and hit that dice button, no planing at all and looks good

i completely forgot about that feature!!

Thanks a ton i'll just do that save myself some time to finish off the rest of my stations ready for adding an L/XL Shipyard to my wharf :mrgreen:

and you dont need to put any connectors it does that automatically, awesome feature

EDIT:It does not work when adding stuff on already built stuff bc it shuffles them to, so it builds from scratch

Awesome! yeah i would use it for my new stations the ones i built already are easy to expand if i need more of a certain resource i can just copy some sequences and paste em on :D

Don't really have a capital system (certainy not one I've claimed as my own).
Do however have a fair number of stations scattered around the map:

Just a map view but this "capital sector" filled with stations is why I hate building multiple stations now. Managing the funding and logical overviews was turning into a nightmare.

On my second game I tried building a mega-complex instead but it is far, far too slow to build.

Really considering using mods in future if they can ease some of these issues.

The rest of my domain is kinda empty except for miners and patrols.

Man those are so awesome i really need to pull my finger out and get cracking, in the process of getting my L shipyard up and running at the moment, still need to produce a lot of other wares though :D

GCU you best hope they don't implement modules randomly exploding on stations like you suggested otherwise that shipyard of yours is definitely going up in flames :lol: Love the defence stations though i don't think anything is going to mess with those one barrage would probably destroy an I :shock:

and mathew you're like total real faction! i really love that system too i might end up taking that in my play through although i'm not too keen on warring with the main factions, wish they beefed up the xenon so they were a major threat but that system just looks juicy, going to wait for split vendetta i think and fight the split, their ships look quite menacing so i can pretend they're reavers from firefly :lol:

And yeah i don't know whats up with station build times, took me an hours to make 1 hull factory module. :? maybe that construction ship didn't have any crew or build drones.

Keep the screenshots coming my dudes they are quite inspirational and giving me a few ideas of what to do in my own playthrough :D

Thanks, rather pleased the way they turned out myself. Have yet not seen an I attempt to run the gauntlet, however this is what happened to an HOP fleet that came through the south gate a few weeks ago:

Oh man i can feel my FPS dropping just from the screenshots :lol:

That's insane, i really hope they beef up the NPCs so they can actually contend with something like those defence stations, think i'll build something similar in hatikvahs choice still need to add turrets square defence station in nopileos though wish i did it before i built it so i could just copy and paste them :D

That was the fleet which then proceeded to stomp all over Antigone & Argon; both factions came dangerously close to extinction.
In the end though, think I found an adequate solution.

May depend on when a particular game was started. My current one was started pretty much as soon as the first beta for 3.0 was released. Games started in an earlier version may not have such an aggressive HOP faction - never saw a fleet as big as that HOP monster in any of my previous games, or that HOP started with so many stations. Guess the devs decided they need all that stuff because they have no allies to trade with.

As for the Xenon; fairly early on in my game Teladis cleared out Matrix 9 & 451, HOP did the same to Atiya's Misfortune & Faulty Logic shortly after. A while after that (while testing some of the new weapons & 3.0 subordinate roles) I cleared Scale Plate Green. In 3.0 factions rebuild their primary stations (shipyards etc) in other sectors they control. This includes the Xenon.

They've now effectively been concentrated in the area around Tharka's Cascade. They've got at least 2 shipyards & 3 wharves in the region & those are just the ones I'm aware of. It's entirely possible (likely even) that more may have been built since I last had a look round. The north of the map in my game is absolutely seething with Xenon ships, which is why I'm currently focused primarily on containment while I build up my fleets.

Whoa I didn't realize it added connectors for new stations! That's awesome. I need to try that next time. Thanks!

Yeah this save was started in 3.0 beta when it was first released, current save game time is 3 days 16 hours and all of the sectors remain the same, apart from company regard and heras twin which have now been claimed by the xenon so i think i'll go wipe them out and claim those sectors for myself to avoid a war with the teladi :lol:

I don't use SETA either so maybe just needs longer for it to run the simulation, HOP have been constantly trying to build and fighting in second contact II but haven't made any progress, they keep sending in a few ships at time.

Edit: By the way have you ever managed to find a way to move your fleet in formation, rather than having them fly to sectors peacemeal and getting owned?
