I don't know why I happened to be on the X4 Steam store page, but it caught my eye that the videos and screenshots promoting the game are kind of... crappy. I run X4 on a potato that starts wheezing every time I land on a station, and even my game looks better than that. The videos even start with an apologetic "we're sorry this looks like crap, it'll get better" disclaimer, which a) isn't accurate, and b) is absolutely not how you sell something. It's kind of a "best foot forward" deal.
Can I, like, send you some better screenshots? Can we get someone with one of those hugely long-running games to make a youtube video showing off their empire, and you put that up instead? The game is much better than someone seeing the store page would assume it to be.
Why do the Steam videos still show alpha footage?

Yes they need to update their steam videos and remove the alpha or beta footage disclaimer videos with final gfx videos. Since 3.0 is updating some visuals i would think when 3.0 is out that would be a good time to replace said videos and not disclaim any future videos as beta or not quite finished statements since its a fully released product now.

Good points!
They have a marketing person now so there should be someone who can jump on this....

Irrational factors are clearly at work.
