Mod Request Stock Market

In previous X games there was a stock market that players could buy and sell commodities. I think this might a good way for early game players to make some quick cash it could also be helpful in making more money or perhaps losing some. Perhaps if certain parts are being consumed enough more investments in them will drive up production. For example engine parts aren't being created so you invest more in parts causing production to go up in return. Each race can have their stock exchange with different commodities and values for the player investor.

Until modding the UI is more common and easier I doubt it.
there is also no code in game to handle stock exchange emulation so its a pretty tall ask.

The conversation menu could be used to pick stocks and the log supports enough characters to display the stocks. I thought of making a stock market but couldn't decide on a method for the math. I'll make the mod if anyone has a good idea.

Im good at math, but I didn't play previous X games and I dont understand this request, something with investments causing some production go up? sounds mysterious to me, could you please explain?

Yea so the idea was to help increase production by investing in certain companies that deliver wares. For example say a mining corporation is out of money but are publicly traded you can then invest in them. If they succeed and become a bigger company you get a larger return. (Think startup companies) It also might be cool for you company to be able to be on stock market.

ah so these different companies should be like just imaginary, which have nothing to do with the real factions and what really happens in the game (like stations built, ships built), right?
But what is it about the wares as you said? if I invest into a company, which produces engine parts, where should those wares come from? I mean there still need to be factories to produce them, no?

Hmm perhaps if you invest enough it could possibly kickstart ai into making more stations. Or you could just increasing deliver amounts and intervals at stations or shipyards. I'm thinking about scrapping this part of my idea. Just having it be company based where some companies are tied to the factions some are independent. But investing benefits you by making you early game money. It also helps out the economy as well.

You could just have it be an efficiency effect similar to work force to increase production

I mean I would cool with that too tbh I'm kinda spit balling ideas so that any intrested modders can take this idea in what ever direction they choose.

We worked on this a little today. We are making a stock market. I shouldn't spoil all the details. You will see corporate ships and stations. Corporations will die, be born, merge, and split. War and peace will affect stock price. We could use an idea for where to place the Stock Market guy and what to name him.

I have one perhaps Nathan Buffet and put him in teladi space are you making a stock market for the entire universe or just teladi space? Also thanks for making the mod.
