Is claytronic actualy bought anywhere?

Post by Browser_ice »

Is it normal that I extremely rarely see any claytronics being bought anywhere on the map?

Actual producers of it seams to be also very rare. I think I found only one of them on the extreme far east of the map.

This ware is used in building components and even for station building. So .....

I really hate this economy compared to X3's. The hierarchy there made some sense. In X4, it's these weird high tech things that nobody wants or they only want 2 of at a time...

2074 hour of vanilla and it works, you get cause effect like a giant battle with xenon and your ship yard gets an order of 15 destroyers asap. drains the economy of the main parts which pulls main materials along all the way to the ore and silicon need spiking.

I can see xenon actually crush a segment of the economy with some effectiveness. If no war at all in yours you go to the equipment docks and ship yards and hack away the storage into space causing artificial growth. 7 per dock and ship yard universe wide and you get the wheels rolling again.

Explain hacking storage into space

It's what those security decrying modules are for.
Land on the station you want to empty the resources on.
Go to the security office via teleport room.
Find the storage terminal and hack it.
Storage will be vented into space.

I see, but it appears I used up several SDS in the process. I could have just sold them for a half million. When I did it to the shipyard in Argon Prime, it raised the prices for about 30 seconds, and then it was flooded again before I even got my transports to land.

TBH the only real thing I miss from X3 was the menu system, I just like the menus better in X3 it was a sift around but at least it had everything you could ever want.

Depending on what's up in your game demand can be reduced.

In my last game the only buy offers for it were at 1-2 trading docks, and those were close to full as well.
If some stations get destroyed then it might be bought again, but it's not needed for ship production so ship losses will not affect demand for it.

As pref said, it depends on what's happening in your game. Claytronics is only used for station construction.

Claytronics tend to be a moneymaker in the early game when factions build plenty of stations to balance out their economies, then the demand for it begins to stagnate since no/very few new stations are being built. Demand for it may pick up again depending on how faction wars go, if factions destroy plenty of each others' stations, they will need claytronics to rebuild them.

As the faction wars system gets more refined and balanced out in patches, claytronics will gain more meaning as a trade product. At the moment factions don't really attack each other's stations effectively so demand for claytronics tend to die off as the game goes on (not many stations being destroyed and rebuilt).

You will still need claytronics to build your own stations so, if there is an oversupply of it in the universe, stock up while you can still get it cheap!

There are plenty of constructions going on in my last save game:
http://pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=a35 ... 7ba837c0b4

and did this search:
Search "<ware ware="claytronics" buy=" (236 hits in 1 file)

That's a lot of construction going on ....

That is weird. I had specifically used claytronics as trade holomap filters on several occasions and found no one selling it ....

Guess its just a matter of timing when to catch actual live selling trades ....

The game world starts off with a ton of claytronics in the various faction trade stations. This and the fact that claytronics aren't used in ship construction means the demand will never be high. The game world starts out starved of hull parts and engine parts then eventually evolves into being starved for adv electronics, weapon components, and smart chips. No point building any of the other stuff unless you plain to have your own closed economy.
