[2.20] Manage Plots screen corruption / glitches (Windows and Linux)

Post by _JD_ »

I noticed that several glitches appears on the Manage Plots screen:

This is how the sector looks on the map:

I am able to reproduce the issue 100% of the time on both 2.20 and 2.21b1.

I made a video to show the issue first issue (only the first half of the video, the second half shows another issue):

This is the save used on the video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v5jy6b9s0sjbp ... ml.gz?dl=0

I've seen the same, and mentioned that in another thread (at the end of that post).

It seems likely to be Linux-specififc.

EDIT: I was just going by the OSs used in all the reports of this in here or as linked (and the lack of confirmations from Windows users). If you know of other reports of Windows OS seeing the same issues then that would be that theory dispelled.

Could you actually test that likelihood? Because we can't, for obvious reasons :)

Windows version from steam!
These issues happens since 2.0 I am now in 2.21b1.
And to be fair I noticed that if I remain in a quiet sector only moving ships from the map screen. These issues rarely happen. Now when I am onboard a ship within one of my fleets or in a busy station (where I see my FPS drops to under 20) then the issues happen more frequently.

These are the settings I'm using: https://imgur.com/a/g6Q0Lov

UI scale is set to 1.0. Let me know if you need anything else.

Not sure if this is related but I'm experiencing also this other glitch (should I open a separate thread?): https://imgur.com/a/IUAAtvl
Those yellow artifacts I think are the yellow guidance line for the current mission (because I was not able to find it on the map).

From the reddit windows user with the same issue:
My Machine is always up to date.

Thus i have the latest Nvidia driver: (actually there is a new one just now when i was checking my latest version)
So 419.35 (and now installing 419.67).
Game setting is all Maxed out, on FHD borderless window mode.

Nvidia RTX 2070 on a i7 3770k with 16gb Ram.

Ui Scale is 1.1. But now that you mention it. I don't recall having menu issues before when i was using standard 1.0.

Gonna check if thats the case for me.
