something funny.
I just created an split traiding station and changed the owner to Julian, but when i created ships, and stated the homebase the split trading station, it automaticly set one of the nova's on board to patrol the sector and the other to attack all enemy, looks like something hardcoded to me.
It's like all ships onboard has a mind of it's own, and i don't have to do a thing here. The only problem i noticed is when i created product to buy and sell, i'm unable to, but i if you look in information screen of the Trading station (u button) the product i created does appear their.
DZorro,

2) trading stations use secondary ressources, not products
They where docked at the trading station i created, and all of a sudden 1 nova wen't out patrolling the sector, and the other nova where set to attack all enemy's.

some things are automatic. Are you sure its your station..are the ships on board the station your race? Cause if you create a ship and give it a race it will start running scripts on its own, according to its class and the race specified.

Yes it's mine station, that's what so funny here, i even got scanned by one of my own ships flying in the sector, but i was not carry any illigal goods onboard, i do wonder what would have happend there , would my own ship turned hostile on me or not, could try it again though , and report back here.Kailric wrote:some things are automatic. And the ship onboard has been mine from the start.

btw.. how did youand changed the owner to Juliando this? that's not possible, is it? ^^
anyway, show us the script you've created everything with
I used a script called station editor, and created a trading station and used the option julian as race creator, and the station was created, then i used script called shipcreator and signed their homebase as trading station, and all of a sudden some ships where sent out to guard the sector and patrol the sector too, it only happens when i create a trading station and set the race as julian.

I imagine its something hardcoded and deals with the fact that players can't own trading stations. When you create the trading station its hardcoded scripts start to run automaticly, sending out patrols for the ships it owns and such...that would be my guess.D_Zorro wrote:

sounds more like he's forgot to set the owner of the ships (or some strange bug in the code)
maybe he did try to set the homebase on some argon ships?
Nope they where my property, and i could still give the ships order , but when i send them back to the trading station, they where send out the patrol the sector again. like some loop.

that's what he did!
get hold of OlisJ's GalaxyEditor scripts, they're the ones he's talking about - but it'll happen whether you code the script yourself or download it
I've created my own shipyard and equipment docks, and had the same results - ships owned by me flying from a station run by me, automatically patrolling as if they were AI ships... it'd be really nice if only I could get that patrol loop to work on request instead of just randomly.
don't doubt someone just 'cause you've not done it yourself
