I just want to hear some methods for taking down stations and minimizing losses on a budget, lol. Right now, I usually just take a Destroyer and sit about 6-7km away, where the station turrets can't hit me, and blast their defense modules down with my main batteries. I usually use a Destroyer with pulse or laser turrets, they seem to be able to hit the defense drones better. Once I take enough of the defenses down, I'll send other ships in to finish her off. If the station has drones, sometimes I'll bring my own drone ships, or drop a bunch of laser turrets. But I don't like to throw away small fighters on drones.
How do you guys take down stations? I need to expand my tactics and get more efficient. The Hatikvah Free League must die.

OOS attack, no dmg to your ships
attacked a xenon shipyard and no problems, I don't like it one bit but don't want to be there for every fight

Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

Re: Methods for Taking Down Stations
If you have limited number of capships and are to minimise losses and don't mind spending more time there personally, you can just hop in in a fast and strong ship (nemesis maybe with some mass/engine mods) and kill the turrets manually.
You might have to lure away the drones first, perhaps kill them but many will just stay idle after they reach a certain distance.
Once the turrets are gone from at least one wide angle you can call your capships there and let them go for the station hull while you remove the rest surface elements/def platforms.
Once you are done you can kill the build storage and then even go OOS and turn missile turrets on for the capships, that will reduce time it takes to kill the entire station.
IS i would keep missile turrets off so i don't have to send them resupply.
Or just amass a large (10+maybe) number of capships and send them in OOS with lots of missile turrets. That works but there is a (way too low) chance you will get losses.
Don't use behaviours and frequently check on what they are doing so they don't stray away from the station.

My method for taking down a station in sector is as follows. Roll entire fleet up to just outside weapon range, lure swarm of defense drones into fleet, Take one of your destroyers and use its main guns to snipe any defense platforms or other turrets that might be a threat to your ships, then send entire fleet in to wipe it out.
I actually have a dedicated siege platform ship, its a colossus with all plasma weapons with four M ships each with plasma turrets sitting in the dock, docked M ships can fire their turrets. The wall of plasma is puts forth will equate to about three destroyers worth of dps, it will also melt capital ships like the K in seconds.

Pretty much the same here. Have a Phoenix Vanguard with it's main guns modified for extra range (i.e. projectile speed & lifetime) that can smash defence modules from over 10km away & another 4 Phoenix Vs (main guns modified for damage & reload rate) to do the bulk of the demolition work when it's safe for them to approach.Karmaticdamage wrote: ↑Mon, 4. Torpedoes! you could manually snipe out the tracking launchers.. The drones may be sent to you but you will have some fighters / L ships for them. Fire your torps a little under the max range, which is found in the encyclopeDOH.
Or set up a few ships, cheap like buzzards, middle weapon a torp, other two what ever you want have them as a wing attack the station. They should target surface targets first so wait till they clear tracker launchers and then send in your Ls and Ms Ofc your buzzard torpedoer needs some defensive fighters to get rid of drones.
Or set up 10 peregrines with 1 torp and 1 other main weapon with Nodan escorts for teh drones + buzzard wings with the wing leader as a torpedoer watch the beautiful blue lines remove surface crap in seconds, then send in your L's
