Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
Hey all,
This is a weird one!
I just started a fresh new 2.0 game, no mods or anything. After doing some slight load-out adjustments on the standard Elite and hiring a Pilot, I take a "Wedding day" mission to retrieve a ring. I get close to the ship and suddenly I'm teleported to a different sector. While I saw nothing, I thought this must be an anomaly and I continue to follow the ship - despite me being two sectors away now. I'm watching my progress from the map view, when my target ship suddenly teleports from the middle of the original sector - where I was previously near it - to another sector. Can NPC's fall into anomalies?
Anyway, I reload at this point as things were getting a bit weird, and I was totally incapable of closing on the target ship.
Starting from my prior save, I do some exploring then take a transport mission to take a guy to "ARG Patrol Destroyer Behemoth Vanguard" in a neighbouring sector. I collect the guy and proceed to the target ship. I notice, while remotely observing my waypoint in the destination sector, that it's leaping about the sector, moving 20+ km each time, which was weird. I arrive in the Sector and can see the target ship highlighted on my HUD, so I head towards it. I'm closing and, suddenly, it teleports to about 50km behind me, heading for the gate I used to enter this sector.
What is going on? That's one instance of me suddenly teleporting - but that might be an anomaly - and two instances of an NPC teleporting. Is this a known issue?
I'm still in-game, so I'm going to see if I can re-acquire the teleporting Destroyer and actually dock on it. Not the best start to 2.0 :/

Lol. I've done this mission a number of times in prior versions - it's a good starting mission with the chance to capture an M-Class ship early-game - and never had this experience. The teleporting Destroyer was freaky too.radcapricorn wrote: ↑Wed, 27. Feb 19, 18:11 The Wedding Ring of Transdimentional Escape. +1 to agility when at shotgun weddings.
Interestingly, when the destroyer teleported it totally broke my Pilot. She was still set as "land on..." but dropped to normal flight speeds and continued flying straight in the wrong direction. I re-issued the dock order - after first clearing all orders - yet it made no difference, she was effectively broken. I had to manually dock in the end...something I feel is beneath me lol.

As someone who literally just started playing today, I agree, that mission is so much better than the allegedly "Impossible" shoot-dem-mines-that-moveth-not. Bastard didn't bail though, so I had to, uh, liberate my own Demeter from HOP.
Weird. So far I haven't seen anything of the sort. But I'm on Linux Beta, so who knows?.....and never had this experience. The teleporting Destroyer was freaky too.

Re: Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
I'm having other weird issues to this game... my most recent was when I loaded my save just now. When I saved the game last, I'd just docked at a station with a captured ship. I reloaded and I'm back where the ship is bailed in space. Not a clue why my save didn't take, there was the usual fairly long delay while it "Saved". Very odd.
Also, my ships are still adding spurious orders by themselves. I had a ship with NO ORDERS with a pilot on board. I took over, captured a ship, then left the pilots seat of my ship to go claim it. When the pilot of my current ship took over she added THREE orders: 1) Wait for Signal, 2) Dock and 3) Dock and Wait. Why are orders being added like this? I had this in prior games too, but thought such things had been fixed.
This is turning into a frustrating fresh start, and this is usually the part I enjoy most.

I just got the teleporting ship issue again!
I was doing a "family Heirloom" mission, arrived in the target sector and saw the ship on my HUD. No sooner had I turned to face it than it vanished and my target was two sectors away. This is darn strange!

Re: Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
I'm really not having much luck with this fresh start. I have a ship that's stuck at the upgrade process due to missing "Hull parts" - 38k+ of them! However, the station isn't generating ANY orders for them, so there's no way I can supply what it needs. Considering when I started this upgrade the station was only a few hundred short, now it's the aforementioned 38k, something is REALLY going wrong here.
In the past, I'd either satisfy such short falls myself - the stations always generated buy orders - or I'd just wait for the NPC traders to sort it out, which they always did, if not as quickly as I was usually able.
Is anyone else finding 2.0 a really quirky version?

Yeah, so many issues that it's just seems like a waste of time atm.
Couple times got a severe FPS problem, dropped to 3 and never got better.
There is supposedly increased xenon threat, but i cannot make any defence platforms fire at enemies so far.
Carriers on defend pos chase a stupid P to other hostile sectors.
HOP has built 11 defence stations in xenon space, so the weakest faction just killed any xenon threat.
Ships on defend pos do nothing, while the station which is right at the same position is getting wasted by a couple Ks - its 25 def platforms never returning fire as the Ks have no attack order on the station, but their turrets still attack my modules.
AT/station trader max range reduced to 5 sectors making any more sophisticated trade networks impossible.
A 270+ prod module station i built has earned 1.5bill on 1.6 - during the same time 200mill on 2.0 - partly due to trade restrictions, but the major reason is NPC trades has been reduced by a lot.
Hundreds of hours went to waste to build up my empire, no tools to go on, nor any reason as factions can solve all issues without me..

Re: Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
Sounds like the issues from the previous versions. I had this issue with stations before v2... NPC stations are not generating orders because they don't have any storage left. They are buying other mats, filling up the storage, then run out of a specific components. There seems to be no thresholds on stations for which component takes how much space and when to stop generating buy orders, that's why they run out of storage... That's sad...

this game is seriously a bad joke... i really feel for you guys still trying, egosoft should be proud of you because you do more for this game then they do. I've deleted it finally, no more updates, I just cant care anymore. the shipyards are totally gamebreaking. In my game just a few hours after fresh start ALL of them in the universe grinded to halt. No hull parts, no engine parts. basic bugs are causing major issues while they are adding content or trying to balance values... the problem is not with the values, the problem is with the logic, i mean the lack of it... i go now rather piss the subnautica guys over the dlc, there at least i can hope for changes

That or the shipyard is about to get the full order.
In couple hours after 2.0 all the shipyards got fully stocked in my game - HOP at least had couple 10ks order for this or that. But really soon after the update NPC traders satisfied all their needs. Seems like demand went even lower really quickly - i can imagine all of Scoob's missing 38k is on it's way already.
Maybe ES tried to help the complaint about shipyards having no stock at game start. And if you already had supply chains it doesn't really work out well.

Re: Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
I certainly hope that 38k units are on the way! That number had been building for close to two hours and, in prior versions, orders were usually satisfied by NPC's long before then. Perhaps there's been some early-game bottleneck somewhere causing this issue? That said, my game start usually involves capturing and upgrading ships, and my ships got stuck this time. Oddly, I didn't notice any reported material shortages when I queued up the upgrades - well, downgrades in fact, I was selling more stuff than I was fitting - I just noticed that there was no count-down on the map screen.
As for my original points on teleporting ships, well, I've been avoiding any "chase the ship" type missions for this very reason. It's a bit frustrating really as my plan had been to check out various missions early-game, rather than doing my normal capturing, to see how the income stacked up. I have my answer, though not quite what expected.
I'm sure ES will get there, but it is exceedingly frustrating having experiences like this. Like I said, the early-game is usually my favourite part, but restart fatigue is setting in already I fear.

Re: Fresh vanilla 2.0 Game - ships teleporting all over the place
I should mention that the teleporting ships issue happens outside of missions as well.
I put a fleet at a jumpgate, go out of sector, come back and the entire fleet teleports to a different location, still in formation.
Fleets are set to "hold position" since "protect position" is still broken. This means I have to move all my teleported fleets back into position every time I travel through the sectors they are stationed in.
