Got tired of waiting for my 20 engineers to fix my BLW-277 Freighter. It`s been 3 days and the ship is still at 25%.
So I got to the ship went just out the Docking bay, into my suit , to the engines and started using my repair tool...
Entire ship fully repaired in 5 minutes!
I have sacked my 20 useless engineers.
sigh....

If you want a job done, do it yourself!
1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

as i was trying to support my crew by repairing my collosous.. the crew as faster than my handlaser... but on small ships, yes, its is faster by hand.

From what I understand, the crew level stat is what dictate what % they can repair too. So a low level crew will only repair to a certain low %.Socratatus wrote: ↑Sat, 15. My crew tends to repair the ship up to somewhere between 79%-80%. That's the same for all ships I have. From what I understand, the crew level stat is what dictate what % they can repair too. So a low level crew will only repair to a certain low %.

Maybe it depends where you go? I went right behind the engines, got close and just sat there beaming it. I didn`t time it, but it took about 5 minutes. next time i`ll time it to be sure.

The problem here is it`s all a bit all over the place. Either it should have taken me WAY longer to repair the ship (like 20 -30 minutes or even longer), so it actually feels worthwhile having 20 engineers or they, even noob ones, need to be faster.
20 even noob engineers should be faster than me with one repair torch, even if I was an engineering genius! I mean fixing something isn`t all about brains, some of it is just sheer mending and wielding MANPOWER I would think. Compare it to 20 men fixing the QE2 to one skilled man for example. 20 noob men are still going to be faster at the basics until they get to the technical side.
It needs to be balanced so repairing stuff by hand isn`t so quick or engineers start improving real quick. I would prefer it took the Player much longer to do repairs by himself.
Ah well, i`m sure they`ll sort it out eventually.

Also the number of crews may effect it? I dont remember exactly where but i read some in-game text that told me that a ship's crew skill lv depend on individual skill lv and the number of crews it has.Socratatus wrote: ↑Sat, 15.
