it doesnt work if you add an admin module to an existing station
but on the other hand you dont need to build it.
just place a plot, and plan the admin and dock modul and you claimed it as yours. no need to build it

yeah, that sounds like another bug. planning to build an administration module shouldn't give you the sector.

Sector ownership allows you to technically be your own police force and issue licenses or it should per Ego game logic. Pretty sure in Rebirth when you had ownership you were also the police/force for your own sectors. No other faction is allowed to interdict traffic there.

Hmm...I just put a admin centre in Nopelios' FortuneVI , the only other structure in there is a SCA med factory but it didn't give me ownership of the sector.

From what I read (see https://www.reddit.com/r/X4Foundations/ ... wn_sector/ ) of others' testing, having more Administrator Centres will only make it Contested at best unless there are no other Administrator Centres in that Zone (not sure if it's per Zone or per Sector, I'm assuming per Zone and if you claim all Zones in a Sector, you now claim the Sector).

Say I destroy all of the stations in a Xenon sector and place my station there.
They won't be popping out of thin air to reclaim it, and if they even send a fleet it'll have to fly through all of the sectors on the way, right?

Seriously this, X3 had a fantastic manual, here not only do we have absolutely nothing and need to search the web to know how to do simple things like automine, but the encyclopaedia is 75% "no entry/missing description". I get it, small team etc., but maybe instead of walking around stations or other things that were not at the top of the list...?ATTACK_HAMSTER wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Seeing who OP is, it's probably be deduced by looking at the game files/datamining, imagine how many people could miss this entire side of the game, when it adds so much as an end-game goal to take over every sector and defend them.

Maybe Egosoft have more planned for this feature and didn't want to let on about it from the start? Who knowsHoneyRun wrote: ↑Sat, 8. Re: If you didn't know, you can take over systems
I have made a guide for youtube explaining exactly how to claim a sector. i haven't uploaded it yet because the video is currently rendering. Once it's uploaded will i be allowed to place the link to the video on here or just create a new forum post with the video link to help people that might not understand how to do it properly? or would that be classed as advertisement and be against forum rules?

So if enemy has 3 such stations in the system, and I build 4 is it "mine"? I did some experiments with a Xenon sector and I'm not sure it is that simple.

But of course, trying to put up one will make the currently owning faction VERY angry.
In diplomatic lingua, they will unfortunately see themselves forced to use the military option.

That would be interesting feature... Getting log messages from factions that indicate how pissed they are towards you and how likely to attack.

Don't worry. From what I have heard they bring you that message IN PERSON. With very loud torpedoes.CommanderTM wrote: ↑Wed, 12. Dec 18, 18:38That would be interesting feature... Getting log messages from factions that indicate how pissed they are towards you and how likely to attack.

Re: If you didn't know, you can take over systems
So I did figure out why I thought my Sectors with Admin were not giving ownership even though I had the Green Ring around the sector indicating I own it.
I was expecting to see the Sector in the "Property Owned" listing as a "Sector". Turns out you need to goto "Information" on the Station, try and edit the Station name (don't for now) and then LMB anywhere in the Sector. Another Information screen pops up that is related to the Sector and now you can rename the Sector, thus confirming you own it.
Really quite counter intuitive as the Sector should be listed as it's own Group like Stations or Wings in the "Property Owned" list.
