Why do I get random low credit payment?

Hey all,

I've noticed that I get random, low credit payments fairly regularly. These are not direct payments from my Traders - I'm commanding them manually, so I know exactly what their trade runs are worth. Also, the log reflects these known payments, but not this small ones.

In Rebirth, there was some sort of "commission" payment, when you got a small credit reward just for buying stuff, before you even sold it, hopefully for profit. Is that what this is? I've ranked up a little with the HOP, so perhaps that's giving me some additional bonuses over just slightly cheaper pricing.

Hmm I get small credit rewards for killing red civilian ships near stations usually 500 credits. More dangerous targets like khaak or xenon fighters near stations I think it's 5k to 10k. I could be higher if you have licenses I am not sure yet since I haven't gotten that far yet.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't know why... but all my traders are automated. The lowest payout I've seen so far is 8 credits, lol. But i've seen LOTS in the double digits and low triple digits. No clue, and also no clue why I can't look back in my messages log and see these little micro payments.

Do you have any stations selling wares? I wonder if we might be getting payments once wares are reserved and there's npc ships buying 3 energy cells at a time or something.

No wares being sold on my end at least, I just have automated ships at the moment.

All I had were four manually ordered Kestrel Traders and two automated mining ships. Each of these ships creates a log entry when they sell something - plus I know exactly what they're selling of course. These smaller transactions, which pop up in the bottom left panel, do not show in the log file.

I've since set the Kestrels to auto-trade, and the issue seems less pronounced - plus of course low-value trades are sorta Autotrades thing lol.

Basically, when I was manually trading I was constantly getting additional small payment that were not in the log. I have no assets other than these ships.

Isn't it related to reputation?
I thought it might be the price difference triggered by the rep increase.

isnt it so, that when you put a buy order - be it via autotrading or manual - the money it would cost exactly at that moment is taken from your account.
When the trading ship now arrives at the station - the prices may have changed because they have more stock, and there for the price of the goods sink.
When the transaction happens, you get the difference back.

Thats what I'm thinking.

Have you done any missions to put laser towers near stations, or put any there yourself? Could be that those are taking out civilian criminal ships that you see at stations

Did you accidentally send out any Nigerian bank accounts found emails?

You're probably getting the return payments

Probably wrong, but just a thought

From what I understand, unlike previous X titles, now prices are reserved, so traders can't snipe each others price finds. They see a price, and essentially get it locked in, until they deliver.
