If you didn't know, you can take over systems
This is just an informational post. You may not know this but you can take over systems and even rename them
Here is how:
If you check any system's stations you will find those which have a shield as a symbol, usually called defense platforms, but there are also shipyards or equipment docks and those overwrite the name and the symbol. To takeover a system you need to build a station with an admin module, that gives the shield symbol. If you got more than any other faction in that system, it's yours.
So get to it.

Yes, it is part of the faction logic. Any faction will attack its enemies and try to take sectors. This includes youCaptainX4 wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Re: If you didn't know, you can take over systems
i mean if i do this in a friendly sector with high rep, sure if i try to capture an enemy sector this happens but what if i have +20 rep with the teladi and i take their sector? will we become enemies? will they just destroy the station to take it back and calm down like after a crime? or just let me keep it as a friendly takeover? well, i will find it out soonBlackRain wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Wait so I can essentially start my own faction by grabbing sectors and holding them?BlackRain wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Dec 18, 01:40Yes, it is part of the faction logic. erm, now i dont understand this. you said to take over i need to have the most stations with admin office ("If you got more than any other faction in that system, it's yours."), now you say i have to destroy theirs? that means a single station with admin office will suffice or am i still missing something?

Re: If you didn't know, you can take over systems
I guess taking over a neutral sector by building the relevant modules is a quick way to sector ownership then?
I might make this my next in-game goal
Scoob.

Re: If you didn't know, you can take over systems
Sorry, I only know if there is an enemy faction in the sector you can take over the sector by having more admin modules, not sure about friendly actually. This will have to be tested lolCaptainX4 wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Single admin office will suffice, as long as noone else has an admin office in the sector.CaptainX4 wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Has anyone tested this and confirmed it's working? I've built an admin module on my factory complex in Nopileos' Fortune VI, but it's not had any noticeable effect. Is there something else I need to do? Does it take time?

there is so much potential in the encyclopedia if one would just fill it properly. But so far many things in the Encyclopdia do not even have any text, not even flavour text.ATTACK_HAMSTER wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Dec 18, 14:20 Another thing that could of been explained in a F*****g manual!

Hrm I've tried this in an unclaimed sector and it did not claim it for me. am I missing something or do i need more than one Admin Module?
