Where to find station managers?

stumbled upon what appears to be the player HQ plot within the first hour. Jumping through some anomaly and what not.

I have a upkeep mission to assign a manager, but can't find any.

Also, I ended up being able to build the dock without one, but still want to find managers.

Same, i have been looking around from station to station and on ship on ship and i haven't found any single manager and all that.

Getting a manager (and especially a black market trader) to your station is still pretty bugged it seems.

The only way to get a manager on your station is to talk to the pilot of one of your ships, select "work somewhere else", then right click on your station on the map and click "Select" and then assign him as a manager.
Now, obviously that will remove the pilot from your ship and if you have a good pilot, that sucks. You can also tell one of your crewmembers other than the pilot on your ship to work as a manager for the station, but when you do that, litterally nothing happens. That command just gets ignored. You might think about promoting a crewmember to pilot and then make him manager, but your old pilot won't be demoted to crewmember, he'll just vanished into thin air. So you'll still lose the pilot.

If you talk to your pilot and want to assign him as a black market trader for your station, he will become a black market trader, but won't get up from the pilot seat. Your ship will be unusable if you do that, so don't.

My Pilots bugged out in both Situations. Black Market Trader and Station-Manager.

So if u try this, create BACKUP SAVE!!!

That's what I tried first and it failed. Didn't think to try with my pilot. I know it's Egosoft and I expect this shit with them but *sigh* I'm still disappointed.

Well, one indeed has to wonder how they did not test this. Station building is no small part of the game.

Then again, not even the tutorials work completely.

If you have trouble with having your reassigned ship captain remaining stuck in the pilot seat, just teleport out of the sector and back in, that fixed it for me.

from what i know station managers wont be travelling the docking area i think you need to find them in bars after almost 3 days of plying i found only 1 crewmember with the management skill to 1
i think they hid them on purpose to encourage to scan and explore
i didn't even scratched the surface i am still missing the split area if there is split controlled sectors

when you guys go and hire someone look at right upper corner you'll see the person fit for what role

p.s: tbh i dont think you should find 5 star manager in your 2h of game play whats the point?

Bars? Where are these bars?

Also, you don't have to send the pilot. You can select them from the service crew. Just open the list all crew option, and select the individual crew member to talk to.

I’ve found lvl 3 managers on Teladi station building ships, they may be on the other race’s builder ships too.

every npc can be a manager, but if you want to find one with management skill you need to check on cap ships and prey to rngesus. tell him to get into your ship as service crew or marine. fly over to your station. Select your ships info tab go to personal -> crew -> full crew list -> soon to be managers name ->right click -> comm -> work somewhere else for me and tell him to work as a manager on your station.

Sadly there is no ways to get (pay even) for an npc taxi to the station so you need to do it yourself.
