Auto Trader behavior vs Galaxy Trader action?

What is the difference? I set my pilots to galaxy trading and enjoy profits without any issue. What is the point of Auto Trader or how is it different / better?

I think autotrader is more for specific wares, where a galaxy trader will trade anything. Eg, in my game I have a mission to provide smart chips , there is one factory selling them 6 sectors away, as the mission factory offers a good price, I set a ship to auto trade only smart chips within 6 sectors, it worked well, I watch him completing my mission.
