Escort Default Behavior Not Working?

Hey there,

So, title pretty much says it all. I have a captain in my starter ship now and I set his default behavior to escort. He started following me for a few seconds and then just stopped. I have to give him the order of follow to get him to stay with me, and even then, it doesn't seem to function great. My new ship isn't much faster and all Im doing is using travel mode to get to a gate when he stops.

So, dude has 0 star skills, so I'm thinking that might be the issue? Still, he barely succeeds at following me.
I have a three star crew guy I'll put in it and see if that works better.

i agre the escort dont work my ships assigned to defend and escort my trader fly of in advance to the station the trader is going and as fighters are a bit faster then a hauler they get ther and just sit and also formation flying dont work this is turning out as rebirth were your trader or any other ship dont get defended at all even thous they have escorts.

and a 3 star pilot shoud be a litle bit better then 1 in a 100 shot hiting the enemy my fighters is geting creemed out ther.
