Can't Find Registration Skin

Hello, I can't seem to find the skin you receive for registering the game. In game when I log online it said that I would need to register the game to acquire a ship skin.

Game is linked to Steam. Logged online in game. Game is registered. Only see the 4 default skins.

What am I missing?

I think you're looking at the place where you choose a theme for all your ships. The individual paint mods are in a different place. For those you need to dock your ship and use the terminal that shows the Display Ship Options action, then go to Redesign. You'll see Modifications there, and the ones you received will probably be under the second category. Note that you can only use a limited number of them in any given game.

Would this limited use mean only a couple ships can have them? Or would it mean that of all the choices, you are limited to only using a couple at a time for your fleet(s)?

I restarted the game because it wasn't showing up in that location when I first browsed the terminal.

It shows for that particular skin that there was a total of 50 uses.

Can we get more information about this? You mean that we can use only 50 times but if we start a new game we have again 50 or after using the 50 its gone forever?

Well I didn't buy it on Steam, it was bought on GoG.

It's nothing urgent. If anything, I'm looking forward to other skins that the community/Egosoft creates.

Might be limited to certain types of ships? My Elite Vanguard that I started with had no options other than default. I just snagged a Discoverer Vanguard after its pilot surrendered. I have a choice of the default skin or one other skin that's kind of a camo pattern.

Hi everyone,
It doesn't matter whether you own the game on Steam or GOG, both are equally valid and it only matters that you link your account / use your registration key.
It is not required to use the Galaxy client or be logged into the Steam website or even the Egosoft website once you have registered your game.

I've checked and every person that has posted in this topic so far has the paintmod(s) granted for their account. So far so good.
Furthermore I can see that with the exception of bitstorm and SimB everyone has received the paintmods in at least one gamestart/savegame.

@bitstorm and @SimB did you log in since you registered/linked the game on the website? Logging in again, loading a save or starting a new game would re-validate your paintmods and should ensure you have them. Did you maybe not check the "remember me" box and were not logged in after you activated the game on the website?

Exact same issue. @Burnit I logged out and back into Egosoft's website, selected Remember Me, then launched Steam, ran X4, and loaded saved game. Still no paint mod. Thanks!
