Cannot log in to Egosoft via game settings - Fixed!

Greetings. Today I set up my Egosoft account and activated it. I downloaded and installed X4, and then tried logging into my Egosoft account in the game settings. Log in fails every time. Why?

I am now able to log in via the game settings panel.

I'm having the exact same issue - double checked, my account is linked to my GoG serial number and the system took my serial number (although it doesn't say collectors edition and I bought that version)

Check that your firewalls are not preventing the game from accessing the servers.

disabled all firewalls - still having the issue. Also - please allow paste into the password field. Typing over and over is really a pain. Thanks!

Same here. X4 registered in profile settings screen on site, but show authorization error in online features login form inside of the game.

im afraid i have the same problem, i have even changed my passwords on egosoft and steam so they the same but still no luck

I am having the same issues. No A/V and my Firewall is not blocking the game.

We are investigating, but it's hard to diagnose what is happening from our end alone.

it that the username is case sensitive because I kept retrying many time + relog from Egosoft site and was finally able to log in
I also note that use site is incredibly overloaded with also quite be it

I continue to have the this problem. Have never been able to log in from inside the game. I have verified that my username and password are correct and I am allowing X4 through both public and private networks in Win 10. I will continue to try and monitor this thread for a fix.

I also cannot login ingame since release.

Have tried email or username - no luck. Password is 100% correct.

Firewall is open and no other game has network problems.

Hope I can get access to my preorder paint job soon. ^^

Those of you having trouble logging in: were you trying to use your forum username or email address? Just to be clear, the forum allows you to log in using either, but the game only allows you to use your forum username.

CBJ: Can you add perhaps some more debug logging to a file so we can provide you with more details on why the login is failing? Is there btw any debug logging that we can enable, and where does it write to?

I'm also unable to login to the online features, I log in to the forum and use the same credentials in the game but it just reports error while logging in.
Does the game do something with the password before sending it and corrupting it?
How can we help to resolve the problem?

FYI there is a keybind in settings->controls->general at the bottom for "open debug log". If you assign this to a key, you can bring up a little event viewer thing by pressing it and there is a toggle in the event viewer to enable the log file.

Unfortunately, nothing at all is logged to the logfile when this error occurs. (For me, anyway).
