Then I'll fly and explore randomly, grabbing easy combat missions that are on my way to get enough cash to buy a M3 fighter and fit it correctly.
 I am hoping that I can use the same ones I am using now. mapping to different buttons is always a pain when I hit the wrong button and eject

YES a Person with faith and vision, no bugs, just great views with lots of exploration.
Zarjazz wrote: Sun, 25. Nov 18, 21:38 I can see it going one of two ways:

1) Screaming at Egosoft about how they can't release a bug free game on release and don't seem to have a QA department. Screaming at myself about how I'll never pre-order a game ... again.

2) Sitting down to play after work then looking out the window and wondering why I can see the sun rise.
Hate #1 (did that with last release as well)... Love #2 have blackouts on the window, I don't want to know that another day is coming LOL
MrMikey wrote: Sat, 24. Nov 18, 10:05 1. Click download and hope the steam servers can saturate my 1GB bandwidth (yes got lucky in that regard, could even had 10GB but the cost of a router with more than one 10GB (pref sft+) port is a big big no) so i get the game within a couple of minutes.
2. Launch the game and select start profile
3. Start buying cheap
4. Sell at a higher price
5. Repeat 3-4 until my dictator err i mean pilot have enough creds to start enjoy station-building (and by that time likely have a clue what and where to build for good profitssss)
6. Build new stations while exploring the galaxy
7. After some basic economy is in place it will be time to start considering the big picture (and by that time most likely have a clue how the game behaves and how to expand to become a true conglomerate)
8. Go bananas and have fun!

While doing the above it a fair chance a restart will be made at some point ;)
Not sure how fast the game will DL but the faster the better:) Going to find the PHQ Missions Start first, got to have a look at the whole thing LOL I keep thinking it is an old HQ of some Mining Company. Oh watch the Banana peels around the docking area, running/sliding for a ship may not be a good thing LOL Have Fun :)

If my PC can handle it, I'll try my hand at streaming it on Friday and over the weekend. As a long time X player I should be able to give my thoughts on it as I play.
I've never streamed before but its something I'd like to try for this game. I'll link my Twitch channel in my signature in case anyone gets curious.
This sı not ǝpısdn down.

Given the awesomeness of Australian internet I imagine the first 1-10 hours will be downloading the game. Maybe another 1 to configure my HOSAS and then I will be le tired, and need a nap. ;)

Out of curiosity .. What are the actual mechanics of releasing a game on Steam, is there a countdown, a red button that requires pressing or a secure email/telephone ... We will be sitting there looking at a screen waiting for the green light oblivious to all the stresses/decisions going on back at HQ....

My Guess is that the INSTALL button will appear, as of right now there is NO INSTALL or Play button.

From experience, it's either just like that, (the install button will appear) OR you may get the chance to pre-download it a few hours before and get the "play" button unlocked at zero hour.
It changes from game to game and from platform to platform.

Well shit, as long standing fan of the series since X-BTF, I have absolutely no idea what I gonna do for first 24h.

Propably toy with the new GUI and RTS map commands and then do some combat missions as I absolutely hate peaceful trading (I was trader in X-BTF as well as in X2, but since X3 I switched to low grade mercenary with small team of fighters and TL or Panther).

Also during Steam download I'll pray that the game will run on my hardware.

If the game begins flying on space, I'll try to find the closest station to land on and to walk around every corner of the station and also to appreciate the landing of each NPC ship. Then I'll try to find some nice mission chains to see how the pseudo-procedural content evolves in the game regards mini mission plots. Finally after some mission chains I'll try "map" some sectors to begin to get familiarize with the trading.

This is something that I know is going to be first, Just to make sure that the game settings are saved  Not sure how much of a station there will be to explore but WE will find out.

I am going to trade up until I can buy a massive freighter and start my mining company/cooperation/empire and continually expand until I dominate the mining industry even if it means wiping out the competition....

Explore until I find a sector with fighting and see if there is anything to pick up to sell.
Trade that stuff buy upgrades. Repeat as many times as needed.
Fight sector enemies to gain rank/rep.
Think about taking on a mission or continue trading.
Build stations after I've enough credits/rank/rep.
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

In one of the streams I found out there is some kind of Argon vs. Xenon mission chain (or mini-campaign) - I think I'll focus on this.

I'm going to try and find where pirates like to go through and camp the jump point like I often did in Splitfire and Elenas Fortune in x3... maybe decide to pirate one of the races transports as they come through(I hate split)

Depending on how much Its like X3 and will allow...

After an hour or two of causing bailouts and using the bailed out ships to carry dropped cargo where I sell them at the closest shipyard I will upgrade to a larger ship like a M7 type vessel and start boarding larger ships. Once I have a cap ship or two to run defence I will start a factory to produce advanced weapons/missiles and from there expand into trade. With a nicely equiped m7 start the plot missions(in this case HQ plot missions since no core plot exists which is kinda sad, was hoping for a outsider incursion into the X universe where they took over systems and the X races had to band together and fight back with the Player having to have actual fleets of ships to join in since systems can now change alignment between races)

First thing I did: Walk on to an NPC ship, chat with the captain and then have the doors of the ship close right in front of me. Next thing I know I'm flying as a blind passenger with that NPC through a Jumpgate and far away from my own ship.
