Everyone has there own preferred way of playing space games, my moto find your own path and enjoy, but that's not what this post is about......lol..
With that said... I prefer to use my Warthog Joystick, Warthog Throttle and MFG Rudder Pedals in my space games whenever I can. Will it be possible to setup those three separate devices within in X4's UI, so they work without having to use some other key re-mapper software? I really hope you put that in..
I'm really looking forward to this games release..... Kudos Egosoft...

If it's handled the same way Rebirth (eventually... definitely not initially) handled it, I think you'll probably be in good shape. I use a pair of T.16000m's, plus an EDTracker for headlook, and they all play together just fine without having to do any remapping shenanigans.pbright wrote: ↑Thu, 11. I'm not an expert on joysticks and other input devices, but as far as I'm aware X4 has inherited the full range of input device options that were available in the final iterations of XR. It might even have had some enhancements; I'm not sure.

How do you like dual stick playing? I've always wondered about that?Tenlar Scarflame wrote: ↑Thu, 11. Re: X4 Multiple Device Configuration
In my humble opinion, it's entirely superior for space sims. ^^ For my setup the right stick controls rotational movement, and the left controls vertical and lateral strafe movement, sometimes with forward/backward control bound to the twist axis where available (I do that in Kerbal Space Program). +/- throttle is bound either to a couple buttons on the left stick or to the left stick's actual throttle paddle (in Kerbal Space Program it makes sense, but the buttons actually work perfectly fine for most cases). Other controls are distributed in whatever way feels appropriate.
Compared to a HOTAS setup you obvs are going to be missing out on some super precise throttle control, but I personally don't find that to be nearly as important as precise strafe control. For X Rebirth, dual sticks sort of makes the Skunk handle more like a helicopter than a fixed-wing aircraft, which is fantastic for dueling other fighters in the close quarters around stations. It's also great for maintaining control while doing crazy flight-assist-off maneuvers in stuff like Elite Dangerous. Also pretty applicable to ground-based stuff like Mechwarrior - bind the right stick to where your torso is pointing, and the left to throttle and turning control.
TLDR, I'm a big fan and I recommend it.
