The thing is, Star Citizen and X4, beside both being in space, are very different in terms of gameplay. In Star Citizen, you are a single person, who can only fly and command a single ship at a time. In X4, you are also just a single person, but one who can potentially command an entire fleet of ships at a time, and can also build space factories. X4 will give us much more of a chance to command a vast array of ships and NPC pilots. It can allow us to do that since it is a single player game. We can, eventually, become the ruler of a space empire.

Star Citizen, on the other hand, deliberately limits the ability of the player to command large numbers of NPCs, because in an MMO, they want to limit how powerful a single player can become. It is a game that wants to force you, the player, to personally make all the trades and action. You won't be able to, for example, own a separate freighter, tell it to go to a position A, buy some goods, go to position B, and sell those goods, all the while you are in a fighter at position C. In an MMO, you can't have each player going around each controlling vast empires.

It'll end up like Eve Online, Guilds full of snotty-nosed teenagers raging on other players cause they cost them a ton of cargo and a ship.
Trying to push us onto 'Live Services' to get us to fork out money for additions and they start doing season passes then it'll just be another MMO full of Trolls, Hackers and victims caught between the 2. SC looks amazing and if it was a single player you'd be playing that game for months on end.
But X4 looks amazing for the limited resources it has and it's a single player, tailored for single players and that's why I keep coming back to it.
Those Twitch snobs can keep their 'Live Service' Citizen.
For the amount of cash Cloud Imperium have creamed off them, they should know better.

I've tried explaining this to them and freinds, and they dont understand the difference. "But I can fly many ships in this game too" yes but at the same time, give them orders to do different tasks while being in another part of space, and thier faces go blank "huh?" their puny brains cant understand the scope of X"

They still have that planned. Originally there was supposed to be a single player component and it would be free with the whole price package. And then they said ok the single player will be $20 for the single palyer component. Now they say they are almost done with the single player mode but its going to cost you a full $60 on top of the $60 for the MMO as its now a seperate game. (its just the MMO with out the Multiplayer and a few tacked on single player missions)

Its just a huge scam and everyone is buying into it.

I have a SC package for the base Aurora, with access to SQ42. But I will not pay for another ship, when I can supposedly earn them in game some day. I say supposedly because I don't see CIG abandoning their cash cow model anytime soon. They have 200 million dollars to make this game, and it is still not enough for them.

Anyways, I'm way super hyped for X4! Much more so than SC at this point. I haven't even fired up the SC alpha for the last couple of patches.
