Unable to launch Albion Prelude bonus pack under Win10 - resolved (AP not installed)

Post by White Rat »

Hi guys,

Been a while since I was last here, but I was wondering if anyone could help me experience Albion Prelude again - it's been a while since I last played it but I remember the endless hours I enjoyed previously.

So I have reinstalled X3TC from the original disc and patched this up to version 3.2d. This allowed me to launch the game with no problems - everything's fine so far.

I then ran the X3AP Bonus Pack 5.1.0.0 installer and the installation appeared to go well without any issues. However, when I look in the Egosoft Start Menu the only option regarding AP that appears there is the Uninstaller!

I have searched my hard drives for any other AP executable that there might be but so far nothing. Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have you downloaded X3AP from Steam or GOG?

The X3AP Bonus Pack is just a few added facilities for the game X3AP and it does not convert X3TC to X3AP.

That would be something to take up with Steam, but just one Steam game disappearing would seem very odd. Also I am unsure why you have recently reloaded X3TC from DVD if you already had it on Steam; you would have needed a Steam version of X3TC in order to get X3AP.

I previously bought the DVD edition and subsequently added it to my Steam library; that was several years ago and my hard drive has underwent a few formats since then. But thanks for the advice.
