Would also help if everyone experiencing the freezing issue can post a list of mods they have, that way we can see if there's any common factor there...

My mod doesn't run any scripts in the background, so it shouldn't be the culprit, but I am not ruling it out (since it does modify a few of the same vanilla scripts that CWIR is).

MICT/MOCT may also be a cause, since CWIR runs on very heavily modified combat scripts, looks like...

In general CWIR may be unsafe to use alongside mods that modify aiscripts.

I have a quicksave a few minutes before the event. I'll just go and try to see if I can remove the other mods to make a "vanilla" cwir save.

From what I saw (only on 2 attempts), the timing changed by a few seconds. I'll makea few more tries, and if I can remove the other mods I'll reactivate my dropbox and send you the link.

I don't have the save anymore, but I did have one a minute before the freeze. Reloading that save had the same result: at exactly 44 minutes, it froze. Removing CWIR and loading the save had no freeze.

None of the mods in the list are required to load the save. The crash still happens without these mods running. (I didn’t try without CWIR, though). HoL DLC is required since the save is in Torride.

Hmm, not running my mod or MICT/MOCT, so that's probably not it... :\

i had no real idea about the freezes, but i found a little bug (could be related or not) and some smaller improvements at the code

so i had a md/conquer_mod.xml file to test if someone will try it

In my save: just stop the ship, engage SETA and it will reliably freeze in a half minute. Without SETA it will freeze as well, but it may take from minute to five(so it is not quite the same, but it happens anyway). Heat death of the universe is inevitable :cry:

it didn't froze at the same time/place after reload.

i don't have mict/moct or other ia script.

when the game freeze i have to kill the window as the game doesn't come back after 5 minutes.

i have no added mods since cwir 1.0

Doesn't help with freezes, unfortunately.

Ok for those having a freeze, please try this and let me know how it goes. Hopefully I can narrow the issue down.


Delete the CWIR folder and all its files. Install CWIR version 1.1. Unpack version 1.2 but don't install it. Just move the NPC_build_catcher(forgot exact name of the file) file from the 1.2 version to your CWIR folder and replace the one in there.

Let me know if the freezes go away. Try an existing game and if that doesn't work try a new game.

If it works like that then it is one of the bug fixes Done for version 1.2.

No such thing. There are NPC_Build_Station_Handler, npc_shiptrader_small, npc_shiptrader and npc_architect. Which one?

Build station handler, sorry hehe I forgot the name. Also you will need to replace the two construction files, something like station construction and rebuild construction. Forgot the names

Well, I tried downgrading to 1.1 and copying NPC_Build_Station_Handler from 1.2: freezes at exact same time after loading.
I tried downgrading to 1.1 without copying anything from 1.2: freezes at exact same time after loading :?

I guess the game entered some "no, I don't like you anyways" state for me while it was running 1.2 xD

I even tried removing MICT/MOCT: doesn't help.

Sorry, but I don't feel like starting a new game again to test :/

Sidenote: I had a severe 5 minutes-long stuttering(like 1 fps!) in 1.1 in my previous not happy as well playthrough in kind of same timeframe from new game, but it vanished as suddenly as it appeared.

Sidenode 2. With -debug all just before the freeze those lines appear in the log. Might be unrelated, but why not?:

Yes the issue appears to be with the patrol script so try out the link from Marvin and it will hopefully be fixed now

I tested this on a save which should have froze three minutes later, and it's still going 50 minutes later. So far it seems to be working.

I can confirm the fix too. No more freezes with Marvins xml.

I tried fix with 2 different savegame files, those were saved 1 minute before freeze time.

Both files seemed ok and kept playing so far.
