This time around, there are a relatively large number of undocumented changes.
For those interested, the 11 I'm aware of so far are listed over on the wiki here below the copy of the official change log at the top of the page. Anyone can edit the wiki without registration so feel free to add or update!

Hi there,
I've started a little summary of new things in the 4.00 beta that we can update as we discover more. The idea being somewhere we can collate info and tips that could help us understand the changes and what they offer.
https://www.egosoft.com:8444/confluence ... d=36602120
In the past, there have been text and/or video guides to major updates so the page may not be needed in the long term but in the meantime, it might be useful. The evolving list of undocumented changes can still be found here.
Egosoft's wiki lets anyone reply to, or update, posts without registration so feel free to. If new to the wiki, stefanEgo's welcome page is here.
Regards,
Sparks

I've got one. It is listed in the "Weapon Modification" option in inventory:pref wrote:Sounds really nice. Having SETA and AI boost is unexpected. Always missed the latter in X3, and SETA in XR.
What are these weapon mods? Side effects like slow or shield/energy drain?
Skunk only?
Code: Select all
Particle Repeater Mk3
Small Weapon Modification
Projectile Lifetime increased by [some number]%

Code: Select all

Has anybody figured out if the new "Economy Statistics" button in station details does anything? Figured that it might have something to do with the "Economy Analytics Software," but it only seems to pull up a blank graphing grid. Looks like bits of data should be selectable on the right -- marked "data selection" -- but all of the fields there are blank. (Colored dashes.)
Probably something coming up in a later beta (hopefully), but was wondering if I'm just missing something to access that juicy data.

So far it is labelled in the patch notes as "feature not yet functional" so I would guess you're not doing anything wrong and that it could arrive later, after JDs and SETA (which are "functional but item not yet available").

Shh! Sounds like an unintended benefit. Might get fixed.Earth Ultimatum IV. wrote:Funny that even though you can't use SETA while flying, you can bypass the restriction by turning Flight Assist OFF and then just activating SETA while drifting with engines turned off.
Oh, you can WSAD while SETA is on. Kinda wierd.

I really look forward to this feature! And, yes, it will surely be functioning in a later beta version.w.evans wrote:Has anybody figured out if the new "Economy Statistics" button in station details does anything? @w.evans
Not only in station details but economic statistics are also available per station/zone/sector/system/galaxy
You can access them by entering the holo-map and then click on the new "bar diagram"-button next to the zone/sector/system/galaxy-name.
Thisfeature got more interesting now.

Hard to tell. It looks like it would be economy stats to me too but when I hover over it, there's a tool tip reading "Jump".w.evans wrote:Oh cool! Was wondering about that. Took pictures of some of the new features. Worth a looksie if looking at UIs floats your boats.
A new ship, jumpdrive functionality and the economy analytics UI. Added the ship and jumpdrive with some simple modding (the jumpdrive is actually included with the debug free play start).
Here's a link. Possible spoilers if you want to discover this stuff by yourselves!

Well, it's actually calledEarth Ultimatum IV. wrote:Not sure if that ship is supposed to look like that. Probably just a placeholder.
I mean, what the...? It's filled with ads, like Mozzila Firefox was at my laptop before I decided to completly re-install the windows.
