1. Are you using mining ships? (do they have mining laser turrets?, ie; Fedhelm, etc).bytravel wrote:i got a problem with mining ships
i assigned them to a station and all they do is "looking for resorces"
any ideas?
2. Do these ships have the appropriate mining drones installed? (surface miners for ore/ice, or scoop collectors for gasses).
3. Do you have the required crew on board the ships? (Captain, Defence Officer, Engineer).
4. What type of station are you assigning the ships to? (so that we can try to recreate the bug).
5. What zone is the station in? (In case it is a simple matter of the resources not being available).

I see that when the range is too short - i.e. there are none of the required resource available within the station Managers current range. Ranges are Zone, Sector and System, the latter needing the Radar station module built of course.
Only other time I see this is if the station is full of a given ware and/or the mining ship is full and cannot unload.
Note: there used to be an issue where your station would need the funds required to buy the ware, even if no money changed hands - you don't buy from your own mining ships - but I think this was fixed some time back.

i got everything, cash, space since i restricted the buy of that specific ore from other factions in the manager window, and i got the range to galaxy (i use the galaxy range mode).Scoob wrote:I see that when the range is too short - i.e. there are none of the required resource available within the station Managers current range. They simply dont harvest, the comando sticks to "searching for resorces" and they just fly around looking but always empty.

yes, its empty.Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:Does the station have any space for any more of the minerals the ship could harvest? E.g. crystals.
Sorry to ask the obvious but it's worth checking.
also something i've noticed just now. Probably none of the miners in the universe are working, since the demand for ore on the market is huge and nothing is for sale (ore wise).

Could be, yeah. There has been quite a few discussions in the past concerning whether the manager of a station is on the ball or not. There have also been quite a few improvements in that regard too so maybe not. It may be one of those things that the Manager only gets around to in a while but it is hard to tell and potentially boring to test.
In vanilla, Managers can be set to zone, sector and system range but only Traders obey that, while miners always use system range. In this mod, the authors have been able to cleverly get miners to obey manager range too. I would presume that this mod and the Galaxy Trader mod are compatible for miners but I cannot remember it that has been commented on yet.

Sometimes with wares the station may show (for example) 0 / 50,000 stored items, but the ware class is full.
I.e. with Ore, your station has ZERO Ore out of a possible 50k (for example), but when you check the totals for Bulk storage, you see there is no spare capacity.
That's the only other thing I can think of. However, when I've seen this myself, the ships still collect Ore, they simply cannot offload it.
Btw: You say you have "all drones" what do you mean? You have some of each type? For Ore, you just need Surface Miners - I usually only have 12 Mk1's per Fedhelm personally. Works well.
Btw 2: anyone updated to v3.61 beta with CWIR yet?

I have noticed that BULK mining - i.e. Ore, Silicon, NVidium & Ice - will stop if the player is in the same Zone. The moment the player leaves, ships are using a different script to "fake mine" the area. However, my Gas (Liquid) mining ships seems to collect resources irrespective of my presence in the Zone.

Should be safe to uninstall. Just make absolutely sure that none of your stations are set to galaxy range, uninstall, then delete the linebytravel wrote:so CWIR allows galaxy range?
my problem is if i unistall it i have to start another game lol since it seems unistalling it it is nto save game conpatible.
But i will give a go at a new game without it to check it
<patch extension="ws_285697432" version="135" name="Galaxy Station Range"/>
from your save. It was set to add a flag to your saved game because failing to set ANY of your managers to a range other than galaxy will do something bad. (CTD, I think, but can't remember for sure.)
