I have a) some difficulties and b) some thoughts. Would appreciate some assitance.
So, first of all, how do I get enemy missiles off my tail? I was trying to look for something like flares or countermeasures to buy at different space equipment docks but didn't find any. It sux when you blast a wing of Xenon and then get shot down by one darn missile. Any suggestions?
Then, I tried some piracy, but the spoils I get from freighters are not worth the trouble of making the whole race your enemy. I was thinking, maybe I should save some creds and obtain a freight scanner? Would it be of any use (it's darn expensive, so it would be a waste of time and money if it's no good)?
Another thing is, I thought maybe it's better boying the law enforcement licence and start hunting down pirates? Do they pay well for shot pirate and Xenon ships? Naturally, I should probably just try it, but I'm trying to cut down time for making money and save it for fighting. My 2000 shields and 4000 lasers (idn't have enough patience to save creds for better stuff) are just enough to deal with the pirates and smaller Xenon craft, so why overdo it?
And, yes, is there any way to sell spaceweed? I know it's legal in Telladi space, but do they buy it anywhere?
Thanx in advance.
Oh, yeas, I just remembered one more thing. For all I know, there should be a way to persuade the Argon to buy the mineral scanner (I think..) for you, so you don't have to spend your own creds. How to do that?

When someone fires a missile avoid flying in straight lines (until you upgrade the speed of your ship to outrun them)... There are no countermeasures available. Max out speed and keep turning the ship until the missile self destructs..zlo wrote:I have a) some difficulties and b) some thoughts. Would appreciate some assitance.

It useful if you have a fleet of ships and want to know what is in each one. Also you can use it to work out what pirate ships might be carrying... rather then shooting at an empty freighter.zlo wrote:

Providing your in the race controlled sector that you have a license for then you'll be paid credits on a scale depending on the size of ship you shoot down.zlo wrote:

100cr for a small M5 - Xenon L,
500cr for a medium M4 - Xenon M,
1000cr for a large M3 - Xenon L
Pirate stations are the only other places to sell spaceweed.zlo wrote: And, yes, is there any way to sell spaceweed? I know it's legal in Telladi space, but do they buy it anywhere?
Only if it's offered in a mission...zlo wrote: Thanx in advance.

Hi there, welcome.
Missiles are easy to deal with. They are slow and have a large turning circle. What you need to bear in mind is that until you significantly upgrade your ship you are a puny weakling who should not be tangling with the Xenon or pirates. They will hand you your butt. You need to upgrade weapons, shields and most importantly, speed, maneuverability and equipment.
Second, you need to get into the right mind-set. This is not a freeform sim, you are a specific, lost pilot trying to get home and you need the support of the races to do that and roleplay that role. Even though you can, you should not be pirating, you should be following the plot and trading. If you want to play freeform you should move up to XT.
The credits you make from trading and your own factories far exceed anything you can make from pirating or bounty hunting.
The plot will be much harder to follow if you piss everyone off by behaving like a thug. Mellow out and explore the universe, upgrade your ship, build a Xenon-smashing battle fleet.
