As I'm almost certain the "some stuff" refers to the new cap ship bridges - could you please, without revealing too much, give us a hint whether they will indeed be equipped with a RTS-style command table or just of cosmetic value?linolafett wrote:My feelings about the next patch? Will introduce some stuff and less bugs (certified by getrid-o-bug™)

I'm very well aware of that. It was just a little badly camouflaged bait for fun. Apologies.Xenon_Slayer wrote:No point asking stuff like that because we won't be able to answer. As soon as there is info on an upcoming build it will be there for all to see in the public beta forums.
Edit. But let me add that I'm excited to see what upcoming build(s) will bring, and that I believe X:R is not that far off to become a very interesting game/universe.

You are so naive... and you too rest of you. Don't you see what's going here? We have wait this game almost a year ago with same excitement... (and hope) And what?
Can you recall that feeling? Now you started to "pump" your feelings up about the next patch... with hope.
The hope is, which speaking out of you loudly. Do you think the next patch will solve all the problem this game has?!
Come ooooon!
Mark this feeling, mark it well. Then let's talk about it after the patch.
Shall we?
*** i no meant to be offended to anyone ***
ps.: sorry if I was so sarcastic. I no believe - in this case - jokes, pancakes, and "yeah... let's pass the time, how about insert some cookie pictures here or start counting from 1-......". I believe a game with 95% perfect at release, and what could be 100% with 2-3 patch. Not with 20 patch, and an alpha state at release.

We've done the arguments about release > current to death many many times. There's obviously a reason why ES have broken the monthly patch promise but they won't say what. Dead hamsters, burnt pancakes, none of us know why and es ain't saying except that they aren't releasing it for gamescom. Is a forum full of pancakes better than a terribly quiet forum very few others are posting to? Answers on a postcard. Or written in sauce on the pancakes.

Read my post again - no, I didn't say I expect 2.5 to be a miracle patch.Pimpace wrote:*** no offense ***Artean wrote:...and that I believe X:R is not that far off to become a very interesting game/universe.

There's a lot of goodwill in this community, people want to help and engage with you, but no one on your team has engaged with anyone, meaningfully and publicly, since before release. This seems mad.Xenon_Slayer wrote:No point asking stuff like that because we won't be able to answer. Is it due to a conscious agreed decision among the developer team, or perhaps some sort of clause in a contract from creditors or an angle of management?
Will you ever tell us why?

My interest in the next patch, and confidence in Egosoft to generate a good one, is based on observations of Egosoft-player interactions during the beta process since v1.25. Will the patch be bug-free and perfect for everyone? Of course not – beta testing is for the former and the latter is fundamentally impossible.

Maybe they are trying to full debug the patch to let us try and test gameplay-field and not only technical field.
Maybe not.

I will be surprised and impressed if that's the case. But they haven't done that for any other patch so....Cabrelbeuk wrote:Maybe they are trying to full debug the patch to let us try and test gameplay-field and not only technical field.

Well - seen most reactions in the forum (and the steam forum) it would be not very handy to say anything. If they do the following things could happen:Archaeosis wrote:There's a lot of goodwill in this community, people want to help and engage with you, but no one on your team has engaged with anyone, meaningfully and publicly, since before release. 1). Even the slightest hint on any improvement or update in any direction or part of the game could and will be used to build gigantic towers of speculation (some for fun and some serous).
2). Those speculations become "facts" within a short time. Simply because people read them and think that the speculation is based on some knowledge. It would be not the first time this would happen. In fact - this happened a LOT before the game was released last year.
3). When the patch is released and those "fact" upgrades are not present, the developers get accused of not being honest and deceiving people.
4). Pitchforks, tar and feathers will roll over this forum again..
This is an bit tongue-in-cheek (for those that did not get it), but (sadly) not entirely..

I don't think it'd really be that much of a problem, and don't really think Egosoft are staying quiet for that reason. Every developer has to deal with this to some extent, and though there might be some disappointment, anyone in the community with any maturity should be able to deal with it. Any disappointment-related backlash would be minor in comparison to the enormity of the backlash caused by their silence through and after release, which has destroyed an overwhelming sense of intrigue and support which was present in the run up towards it. The damage there is already done, I can only see openness helping now. At this stage the few who remain are mainly hard-core supporters - they're hardly going to scream blue murder.
If anything, it might be because of the rather hateful response to release Egosoft've received, something I attribute quite heavily to the continuing wall-of-silence treatment they give the community. So to me, it looks like a vicious circle. They stayed quiet before release (presumably because the game was a horror to behold), people were furious with what came out, so Egosoft withdrew away further from the venom directed at them, so people remained furious, etc. It's been very sad, I wish they'd speak out in some way.

I'm awaiting this beta patch and a new roadmap from Bernd at least......
Hopefully it will be an economy fix and small to medium ships to use ....
Looking at Rome 2 patch 14 has fixed the majority of the siege ai and the vast majority of players and I'm enjoying the game ....apart from the serial trolls who can't help but moan ....
It's taken CA virtually a year to nail Rome 2 with patches and dlc with hundreds of staff at their disposal although working on other games ...
Now let's look at Egosoft with their tiny team of 20 and give them a chance ...
