I'm black screening when transitioning between zones, sometimes when docking or leaving a station and when a cap ship explodes. When this happens I can hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and open task manager, in which the client will respond and take control for a couple seconds. If I do that a second time, I will almost always then get control of the client back as if nothing is wrong.
I just upgraded to an i7 4770K and a 780 and the game runs incredibly beautiful otherwise. It's like an entirely new game with no FPS issues at max settings.. except for these hangs. No dmp is being generated or anything, even if I force it to close when its hung like that.

I have various hangs (and associated .dmp) at an average of 1 hang around 6h gaming time (Average, ofc... 9 .dmps in the 60h period of my 1.24 tests).
Most of those hangs (7) happened right when entering into a superhighway (sector transition). I don't know what's happening there (I/O access spike)... But as you have another consireable slowdown (I/O access) in the middle of sector transition right before the endpoint zone appears in front I assume the system goes like this:
On SH gate hit -> unload current sector -> on middle travel point -> Load next sector.
I also got a mysteroius hang after returning from a prolonged alt+tab and another one undocking from a Seqanas that was on the move in booster mode.
