Joystick issue.

X Rebirth:

I cant use my joystick Logiitech attack 3 it pitches and yaws but none of the 4 main directions.

Look in there and you will find the option to invert the axes.
I have the same joystick working fine, you will need also to change the axes for the accelerator (wheel) and raise the sensibility to 90 or 95 %.

Use weapons 2 for the trigger.

If you can not find it I can pass you the configure file somehow.
I have found also that the joystick and mouse have a conflict inside of the stations and to walk around works better with the keyboard.

Still no joy my joystick lets me drift left and right but up and down are still inverted
This is maddening as despite the poor reviews I thought I should try the game myself but this issue makes it unplayable. any help would be appreciated and I have verified the game cache files and recalibrated the joystick.

An explanation on where to find this file and how to edit it would be helpful as I am not a programmer.

There was a typo in the name, sorry was too late.

You can use search or look for the folder at:

C:\Users\HERE YOUR USER NAME\Documents\egosoft\x rebirth\HERE YOUR NUMBER OF STEAM \config.xml

With the wordpad will be enough for editing this file , this program is in accessories folder, compare the lines and copy paste.
The lines that I think are important to you are 1st, 2nd, 4th and the two at the final.
Save after the changes.

Ok. found the file as you said thanks for that but the text is all red and I seem to be unable to alter it. bit hesitant about deleting the file and trying to reinstate it with the alterations you gave me any suggestions ?.

Just checked online the Logitech extreme 3d retails at £49.99, that is more than the game cost me so it is not a viable option ie that may or may not work, considering the fact that I have a logitech joystick already and that definately does not work.

Thr problem I have is not the hardware it is the lack of means to customise the control interface.
